April 14,2024 Joy:

Sunday, April 14 New York (Manhattan), NY   4:00pm
Monday, April 15 At Sea
Tuesday, April 16 Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda 8:00am
Wednesday, April 17 Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda
Thursday, April 18 Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda
Friday, April 19 Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda   7:00am
Saturday, April 20 At Sea
Sunday, April 21 New York (Manhattan), NY 7:00am

Incidentally, subsequent Joy cruises to Bermuda after that cruise seems to be back to the normal 3days in Bermuda.

Wonder why a special 4 day Bermuda cruise?

And to those that love Bermuda, congrats!

Wow that itinerary brings back memories. Back in the day 4 days in Bermuda was  standard on a 7 day cruise.. I fondly remember my cruises on Royal Caribbean's Horizon and Zenith. Both ships were small enough to berth in downtown Hamilton and St. Georges.

It looks like the Gem is also doing a 4-nighter with the Joy (offset by a couple of days).

It does look odd. On the way home, they are actually doing two days back (since they leave at 7 am). Not really sure what the overnight gives them (since the Royal Navy Dockyard doesn't provide that much of a night life). .

Our trip last week was suppose to be one sea day out and one sea day back. And we left Bermuda at 3:00 pm to arrive back in NY by 8:00 am a day later.

For you, better hope that they get that late-night gaming license so that they can open the casino after 9 pm.

I read that itinerary as 3 days in Bermuda.

Sailing @ 7 AM on Friday barely registers as anything but a wave goodbye.

But for me, I would love not having to be back on the ship at 2:30 that last day.  More time for Horseshoe Bay!

ahh.. i see..

i just count every time it's listed as a night by default.

4 DAY bermuda would have been less confusing.

But it's really only 3 days (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday), because they leave so early on Friday.

That's still a long time in one port! I'd jump at that.

We are on that sailing and are VERY excited to not have to rush back to the ship the afternoon of Day 3. Even though we will probably sleep in and miss sail away on Friday, being able to have a full third day should be awesome!

I also agree that it would be nice not to have to rush back on the afternoon of the 3rd day.  I would still consider this to be 2 sea days on the way back even though it only shows one on the itinerary since it leaves so early on the 4th day.

Thats interesting, my wife and I are booked on the Gem in June 2024. I was looking at the June cruises and noticed the arrival time in now Noon. It's always been 10am from Boston. I hope its a time screw up, our booking shows 10am not Noon

Gem leaves from Boston on the Friday and gets to Bermuda on the Sunday late morning, right? That’s one full and a bit sea days. If Gem had 2 sea days down, she’d make it here early Monday morning.

Yes, but the arrival time has always been 10am from Boston. On NCL it's now Noon which is new. When I booked the cruise a month ago it was 10am, our itinerary shows 10am. I wonder is Noon is a new time or a typo

Boy does this bring back memories. As stated above up until about 15 years ago NY/Bermuda cruises always spent 3 full nights in Bermuda. It didn’t feel right when we were on the Joy in 2022. That being said I also miss docking in Hamilton and walking right into town.  Funny thing was on my previous 3 cruises to Bermuda (1981,1984 and 2000) we were also supposed to go to St. John but could not dock due to weather so we did the full 3 nights in Hamilton.
