scubamargie Posted October 30, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2023 All our party of 8 have 2 specialty dining credits. Can just one of us make the reservation for a fixed price venue for everyone? Since we are Platnium we can reserve specialty dining 125 days before cruise, but the rest of the group can't. Will I be charged the cover fee for everyone? I made reservations for our party of 8 at Teppanyaki without a charge. 2

The SDP promo is a set number of meals and varies by stateroom type and length of cruise. Are you getting extra meals from a TA? Why did I bother As mentioned above, if you have the FAS dining package the fixed price restaurants (Teppanyaki and Moderno) need to be booked first or they will try to charge you if you’ve made other reservations already. You should call NCL. They will straighten it out,mor at least cancel the other reservations so you book these first.

Did you purchase additional slots beyond the FAS package?

If it was NCL then it will only be for a few meals, not all 7. If it was from a travel agent then I would guess that it hasn’t been applied to your account yet. mjkacmom Posted November 2, 2023 #10 Share Posted November 2, 2023 I think FAS is 2 nights of dining for a 7 day cruise.

Yes, or 1 day if you are in a room without a balcony (although these things can vary depending on offers).
Rare cruiseny4life Posted November 2, 2023 #12 Share Posted November 2, 2023 He may have purchased the specialty dining upgrade for all 7 nights. We had an offer for our Trans Atlantic to upgrade our specialty dining to all 11 nights. We're not doing that, but it is available for us to do. Not exactly the Free at Sea, but unless I missed something, he hasn't mentioned Free at Sea yet. Or, it could be a misunderstanding of how Free at Sea dining works - when I booked my first Norwegian cruise, I thought I was entitled to specialty dining every night. I know that's not how it works now, but remember marketing to new cruisers may say something different than to more experienced NCL cruisers. Rare mking8288 Posted November 2, 2023 #13 Share Posted November 2, 2023 Do a live chat with NCL and/or call into NCL's UK office for poster that has 7 SD package ??, they should be able to sort it out and book it. Depending on the specific NCL ship, the system might limit each dining reservation to 4 or 6 (i.e. Moderno on the Jewel/Gem/Dawn class) - which needs to an override, manually. Or, book it once onboard. Teppanyaki, typically not full or sold out on Day 1 ... not as popular as top choices vis-a-vis Cagney's or LeBistro. As always, YMMV with evolving & new rules, terms & pricing ...
