Rare mamiamjo Posted October 31, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2023 On our last cruise I decided to check out the jacuzzi tub and found that the water was pretty cool like the pool water, which leads me to wonder if they heat the water in the pools and/or the jacuzzis, especially when the weather is cooler like it is now? staceyglow Posted October 31, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2023 I think they attempt to heat the water in the jacuzzis, but they change out the water so often, it takes a long time to get them up to a warm temperature.
kdr69 Posted October 31, 2023 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2023 Ive never gotten into a jacuzzi that wasnt very hot.
john91498 Posted October 31, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2023 It was the opposite for us on our last Panorama cruise. The pool was freezing cold and the jacuzzi tubs were scalding hot.
ProgRockCruiser Posted October 31, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 31, 2023 Hot tubs are usually quite hot, but occasionally I have found one or two to be "warm but not hot". Pools don't get heated usually, AFAIK, but will warm in the sun and of course through body heat transfer from people in the pool. (A pool crowded with humans maintaining 96degF will eventually warm up.)
Rare mamiamjo Posted October 31, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted October 31, 2023 Hmm, well maybe they had just changed the water in the jacuzzi when I tried it, because that water was not even warm, it was cool. I'll try again next time and if it's not warm or hot, come back at a later time (If I can find a time when it's not full)

And by those that never take a bathroom break, just like at the swim up bars. 1
Butterbean1000 Posted October 31, 2023 #8 Share Posted October 31, 2023 I have never experienced a cool/warn hot tub. They have always been hot. On the ships that have a thelosotherapy pool, I don't visit the hot tubs.
mrpayroll Posted October 31, 2023 #9 Share Posted October 31, 2023 Just off B2B on Mardi Gras and the hot tubs were barely warm both weeks.
Rare 1kaper Posted November 1, 2023 #10 Share Posted November 1, 2023 I don't do the hot tubs but on our cruise last November they had to shut down the hot tub because it was way too hot.
Rare mamiamjo Posted November 1, 2023 Author #11 Share Posted November 1, 2023 I don't normally do hot tubs either but my knee has been acting up and had thought that soaking in a hot tub for a while would help with the achiness. Anyway, when I checked the water it was very cool, I wouldn't say cold, but definitely not warm or hot. Going on another cruise this weekend, will report back what I find

So check again later.
Joebucks Posted November 1, 2023 #13 Share Posted November 1, 2023 I can tolerate a jacuzzi that is just luke warm. However, no cold pools for me. I hate it.
Pellaz Posted November 5, 2023 #14 Share Posted November 5, 2023 On Horizon two weeks ago, the Serenity hot-tubs were kinda lukewarm (but the weather was HOT so we didn't mind too much), but the aft hot-tubs were quite warm-to-hot. --And I think those are the only two hot-tub areas on the Vista-class. There are none in the "main" Lido pool area.
Purvis1231 Posted November 5, 2023 #15 Share Posted November 5, 2023 (edited) Some have a "for purchase" large hot tub in the spa that is nice. Edited November 5, 2023 by Purvis1231 typo
mz-s Posted November 5, 2023 #16 Share Posted November 5, 2023 (edited) I know the pools aren't heated. I've never experienced a truly "hot" hot tub on Carnival, they've all been what I consider lukewarm. I don't know what temperature that would be though. If people are sitting in a hot tub for 30,45,60 minutes - it's not hot enough basically. That's my opinion 😉 Edited November 5, 2023 by mz-s
Rare carohs Posted November 5, 2023 #17 Share Posted November 5, 2023 Pools were definitely heated on the Spirit in Alaska. At least the covered one was.
