Specialty dining perks for diamond level

Supposedly Diamond level offers a free lunch at the Veranda Restaurant.  However when I booked it I was charged $45 per person.  Our level is in our record so not sure what's going on.

I also think you can book ahead of time pay the $45 and they then refund it back on to your account when you attend and let them know your entitled to the free lunch.

 

We have done it both ways as we wanted to ensure we could get a table ona particular day bit other times we just as Hattie says book on board

You no longer receive a wriiten card to present. You just book it, letting them know it's your free Diamond lunch or part paid dinner.

Thanks to you both.  I cancelled the lunch already and will rebook as soon as we're aboard.  Perhaps simpler that way.

If you don't want lunch you can use the credit to get a discount on dinner, or in Kings Court/Lido

We use our Diamond benefit for the specialty dinners in Kings Chaos/Lido, for instance Coriander.

I think Coriander and La Piazza are excellent.

No, it covers the charge .

On our Alaska cruise this summer on the QE we declined the World Club lunch.  Later in the cruise we received a glossy written invitation to have dinner in the Veranda. There was no explanation as to why we were getting this and it wasn't necessarily form the Club.  If we had not been in QG this time we would have accepted.  But having experienced the Veranda a few times before we decided not to sacrifice a QG dinner for it.

We had a Veranda dinner as one of our booking perks on QM2 last week. We could have also had lunch as my Diamond perk (I could have, anyway, she was a novice) but we just never got around to it.
