We arrived at Park by the Ports around 10:15 and it was busy. We got on the big bus and headed for Terminal 21.  Traffic was crazy. The terminals were crazy. I admire the bus drivers for weaving thru the traffic without hitting anything. The line for Terminal 21 was just about wrapped around the building if you didn't have your Medallion, which we didn't because we had just gotten off a different cruise ship the day before. It took about an hour to get inside the building and surprisingly the crowd was calm and patient. Once thru security we retrieved our Medallions and were on the ship in 5 minutes, dropped luggage off in the cabin and headed to Lido for lunch.  Options were excellent and food was good. We spent the day unpacking and exploring. Dinner was at 5 and we retired early to our cabin. It was a long day.

I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Some pictures of the Wheelhouse and Salty Dog cafe.

It’s a shame it now takes an hour to get inside to check in.  Were there 2 lines to get inside, or all one line?

No longer an Elite/Suite priority line to get inside the terminal?

It was so efficient in PE prior to their simplified Green/Blue/Gray check in.  SMH

I have no seen an elite/suite line outside a terminal in Vancouver, Seattle or San Francisco for quite awhile. I SF when we saw the line outside the terminal we dropped our bags and went out to lunch

LA there was just 1 line also for everyone.  This 1 line was for everyone regardless if you had a medallion or not.  Long line.

Once inside, of course, the 3 colored lanes to checkin.

Best to be super early and wait or later arrival and avoid the line.

They changed something that was efficient previously.  Too bad.

Yes so much for Elite/Suite benefits... there were 2 lines... blue and green.  Green line was empty. Maybe they should reconsider and Green should be also priority. The Blue line would probably only be half as long.

Interesting. Boarding in Southampton last June was a breeze. Yes, I realize this is a different port and country.

OTOH- boarding in Vancouver, BC in September 2022, took an eternity of weaving back and forth with repetitive checkpoints.

I think one issue with the lines is that they separate ones for those with and without medallion. If you put elites in green line how do they get there medallion. I don’t want to be held up by someone who is picking up a medallion

Well after you go thru security... all lines lead there... if you have your Medallion you go one way to the escalators and if not you go the other way and get in the que to pick up your Medallion. Wouldn't hold you up at all.

We are along side Grand Turk this morning to disembark 2 passengers and 2 crew who need medical attention. Prayers for those in distress.

We can see the Mardi Gras on the horizon.  This will delay our arrival into St. Kitts.

We've eaten 2 nights in the dining room and the food is hit or miss.  My Yankee pot roast on Sunday was very good. Last night the pork ribs were good... the scallops not so much nor the chicken parm nor the fish dish the gentleman next to us had. Service has been awesome.  We have a table for 2 at 5 every night.

Yesterday we had coffee and Danish in the IC followed by a talk on St. Kitts and Guadeloupe by destination expert Gary.  By then it was time for lunch in the Lido and then an afternoon swim in the adult Lotus pool. After cleaning up for the evening we went to Club Fusion to see about the cruise long scavenger hunt. We decided not to participate due to the weird requests. It mostly involved getting crew members to do certain things and taking pictures.  For example find 3 cabin stewards and line them up from tall to short for a picture. Find 2 crew and have them do the walk like an Egyptian thing. Sorry but I think they have enough to do.

We finished the evening in the theater with Shea Rafferty Mix Tape.  He was very good and at moments awesome.

Tonight is our first formal night.

That’s really scary. Any idea what happened?  Odd 2 crew members also are ill.

Went to the casino earlier. Good news is it's spread out and not cramped. Bad news is it's 90% full of old machines. I'm just playing small amounts and when I look at what others are betting they're doing the same. No one is at the tables and also the machines are half unused.  Lunch was in the Lido again and it was just OK.

Today is a chill day because tomorrow starts 7 port days in a row and we have plans for all but one.

This is an excellent workaround.  Good for you.

There are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance from San Francisco's Pier 27.  There are, of course, a number of eateries in the Pier 39 area, but right across the Embarcadero is Fog City Diner.  La Mar at Pier 2 is outstanding, and there are numerous other places at the Ferry Building.

You nailed that one we went across the street to Fog City. Easy peasy with bar seating. Han not been there since moved out of the area

Question in regards to the balconies. Do all of them still have the blue plastic on the floor (if you can look down towards dolphin deck) or have they removed them like they have on the Sapphire and Caribbean from the minisuites?

I’m going to in C617 on the Emerald on December 9th. What are the plugs like up where the TV use to be?  Any photos appreciated so I can plan what I need.

Anything on the ship that would be helpful to know?

Thanks!

Tom😀
