4 * lunch with friends

Can we take and pay for our friends for lunch in Pinnacle grill and get half off?  They are not 4*

Looks like the answer is no.....from the Mariner Society page on the HAL website:

 

Can I extend my benefits (such as the 25% or 50% discount at select food and beverage outlets) to shipmates?

No. Benefits are intended for the personal use of the applicable guest and those sharing a stateroom with the guest on the same booking number. Not applicable to groups. Holland America Line reserves the right to limit benefits if necessary.

You used to be able to do it despite the rules but they are strictly enforced now IME.

 

PG lunch is pretty reasonable, though even at full price 😉

Totally agree.  We hadn’t had lunch there in many years but went in November with our friends.  Was fantastic!

If you choose correctly, you can have a lunch that pretty close to a Pinnacle Grill dinner.

You can certainly pay for a friends’s meal. However, the price will depend on their Mariner status. We have done it several times on the World Cruise as a thank you to others.

Is there no extra charge for an additional appetizer or main?  I didn't see anything on the menu...
