Diamond Lounge Questions

Recommended Posts

Saw on a post for Icon of seas about Diamond Lounge for D+ and up ?…and wondering

is it true Diamond members are not allowed in lounge for happy hour or is this ship specific?

Do they enforce?

What if you are already in lounge before happy hour are they gonna ask you to leave?   I look forward to this time before our dinner.

Thanks for info.

Good Morning,

Thank you for the replies....I saw this on Royal's website regarding the Crown Lounge (Diamond Lounge)...

"The Crown Lounge is an exclusive benefit for Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club members and cannot be extended to include friends and family. Each lounge provides a Concierge to assist with any special needs or requests during your sailing".

Is this no longer applicable or ship by ship, does anyone know?

Thanks

As stated it depends on how many high level

I booked harmony last nov 26, dec 3 and dec 10. Harmony replaced allure and was new to Galveston last nov. Each of these weeks diamonds were not allowed in the crown lounge. .. so it's obviously not u common as it was all 3 weeks of my b2b2b. Another cruise with a big casino thing also I saw someone post happened so I'd say not uncommon.

We are on the Adventure.  The first week Diamonds were excluded from the lounge during HH, but this week Pinns are allowed in the Suite lounge and Diamonds are allowed in the Crown.  We will be on next week and I am sure it will be different again.

We were on Odyssey Christmas week. I thought for sure there would be plenty of Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacles. I was wrong. The lounge was fairly empty all week and the Concierge said that it was busy compared to the week before.
In other words, there is no way to predict in advance if Diamonds will be allowed in during happy hour.

We were just on a 13 night cruise on Vision of the Seas.  They did send out the letter stating that the lounge was for Diamond+ and above.   We never saw anyone check on status in the lounge.  Most nights there were plenty of seats in the lounge.

In reality, the only plus for the Crown Lounge now is the food if you are looking for snacks. Otherwise, you can meet your friends in any lounge and get your drinks.

Yes, the lounge is a quiet place during the day, too.

...and the coffee machine (the biggest perk to me).

In your opinion. The CL in reality is what each of us considers it a value for our individual enjoyment. No matter the time of day/evening.

So, what do you consider is value?

I recorded mine.

I think the issue is your phrasing came off as if you were making an absolute statement about the value in general, not what you personally value.

Many times when I look for a lounge (other than CL) to get drinks/meet friends, the lounges are either: A) Crowded, B) Noisy/Loud Music, C) Slow bar service, D) All of the above
