Probably a silly question…. Casinos on NE/Canada cruise

Hi Probably the stupid question of the day….  Is the Casino on NE/ Canadian cruises open like they are on other cruises, closed while in port, then open once they set sail? Thinking of the 10 day going from Boston to Quebec on the Emerald.  The last night, we are overnight in Quebec, so I would assume the Casino would be closed.

The casino will be open after sail away from most ports.  It takes a couple of days (1.5) to get from the mouth of the St. Lawrence to Quebec.  Probably will be closed when you enter AND while overnighting.  Be sure to check your voyage itinerary and cash out while casino is still open.  Sometimes there is a sign posting hours.

There is usually many warnings in the casino about when to cash out. We a have booked  a back to back in 2025 starting in Boston and will treat the St Lawrence and the 2 days in Quebec like we do on Hawaii cruises about 4 days break from gambling

You should cash out after the first part of the B2B.  It's confusing if you booked a one long cruise rather than as two but they want you to cash out on each segment even if you don't hear an announcement or see a sign that says to do so.  I made the mistake on our last British Isles/Europe/TA sailing.  I only had $100 on my account but went to talk to them about it and they relented and gave me my money.

This is far from the stupidest question I've seen, and I thank you for asking it. 👍 I had a similar question for my similar cruise this summer.

We did an overnight in Quebec City. I remember that the casino was closed while docked. I don't remember if the casino was closed or open while sailing in the St. Lawrence River. Ask once on board.

We were on the opposite coast but... We didn't realize (and didn't get any announcement) that the casino would be closed the last night between Victoria and Vancouver. Apparently they don't go far enough out to sea. I was unhappy when I couldn't get my $400 plus out of the slots. I had no cash with which to tip my cabin steward or the dining staff we had every night at the same table. I did get a check about a month after the cruise but was unhappy that I had no warning about the casino being closed that last day. I definitely learned a lesson that I will remember.
