both, online or onboard the ship

online the discount only shows on the cart page. add the shore excursion to the shopping cart and then view the cart to see the discount. the discount is not on the search or description page

And you must let them know onboard if you are eligible for a latitudes discount. Despite comments to the contrary, the onboard system, possibly depending on the ship, does not ID your status. Newer ships might be programmed but always check!

Excellent point. And relevant to any other Latitudes discount. To be honest, I'm not sure if I get my discount on a t-shirt in the shops. I've never checked.

What latitudes excursion discount? I see nothing listed on the tier benefits.

https://www.ncl.com/latitudes-rewards-program#tier_benefits

Silver/Gold and Platinum get 10% off shore excursions

Sapphire and Diamond get 15% off

Ambassador get 20% off

this discount is applied after the free at sea 50 dollar credit. math looks like this:

retail price - $50 dollar free at sea credit - % latitude discount

for a sapphire latitude member with the free at sea shore excursion credit and the 15% discount, a $79 dollar excursion is only $24.65

Just was in the Viva and it is not automatic. Very annoying that they don't ask or automatically apply the discount.

On my last cruise there was an excursions rep walking the line of people waiting for an agent at the desk, I was looking to book one and to get the discount you have to visit the desk.  When the rep walking the line got to me she took down my cabin number and told me to book the excursion in the app and she'd take care of the discount later, which was done.

Something to be cautious of - if you pre-book an excursion and it's cancelled (either by you or NCL), the FULL PRICE (minus latitudes discount) is credited to your account, then you are re-charged the next day the $50 for the FAS discount you received on the excursion.  It's REALLY odd...

So odd. Of you book online before your cruise, the “system” properly applies all of the discounts. Onboard, every other dept can figure it out (shops, photo, laundry), but not ShoreEx. They must make $10’s thousands every cruise from people who don’t bother going to the desk to ask that their discounts be applied.

On a recent cruise, the Shorex desk told me that I couldn't use OBC to pay for an excursion.  🤣

Discounts are only NCL logo appeal only in shops.

Agree Bird!  This has always baffled us.

We tend to book all our excursions pre-cruise online and the discount is always there.

But every time we've had to re-book (due to cancelled excursions) or add another one, If we do that on on the touchscreens, cabin TV, or phone app, we have to make the trip down to the desk to get them to discount later.

We've learned to not use their electronic means and just make the walk down to the Shoreex desk and get it done properly.

Never had an issue using OBC for excursions, regardless of the type.

Yes, I believe it is just for the DSC and casino that non-refundable OBC cannot be used.
