Blu is a smaller dining room than the MDR so not as noisy or hectic as the MDR can be.   We feel food is a step above as is the service.  Staff is efficient and friendly at the same time and normally they will try and seat you with the same waiter & assistant every night.

For us Blu is more about its smallness (and small lines = quick seating) and the service than the food, although several of the Blu exclusive dishes were good.

yes, for sure but the peace of the place as well. I love the food and DH likes plain food so he struggles not to come out hungry unless he can get extras that are plain

Which ship will you be on?

We just got off the Ascent and BLU is huge and lost all its charm from the older ships.

As a result, service was inconsistent, the noise level was very high and, unless you are in a group of 4, tables are very squished together.  For us it was disappointing.

In addition, you may order anything from the MDR menu while in Blu.  So escargot any night.

Not true on  E Class unless something has changed.  No problem on S and M classes.   You can get escargot, however.  At least we did on Edge.

We also were on Ascent and found BLU very noisy.  Some ships do not have a MDR kitchen nearby and thus ordering from the MDR menu not always possible.

We would not do Aqua on the Ascent.  Silhouette was great.

We were in Blu on Ascent from 4-18 Feb and had a completely different experience.  "Huge" and "Noisy"? - hardly in our experience, maybe because we were having such a good time.

I guess the noise can depend too on the nearby tables. We were typically among tables for 2 near the windows, but the final nights (on Silly) were seated near several big tables of rowdy folks. The closest ones (who turned out to be from our small town--what are the odds?) had been eating at specialty restaurants until then. They finally brought the fun to Blu. Interacting with the other tables too, whee! We found ourselves eating fast and skipping dessert.

Don't forget he can order from the "every night" standard choices of plain steak, chicken and salmon...
