Vision Refurbishment???

Recommended Posts

20 April. We are doing a b2b 4-20 Apr.   Originally we booked 12 Apr and 20 April for a 20 night b2b but the 20 Apr was cancelled for the drydock.

Haven't seen anything specific. Probably just routine maintenance as well as carpet, paint and upholstery.  No plans I've ever seen to do more. Nothing new being added.

Just off Vision Mar 7 cruise.  The ship is in generally nice shape.  Carpets in the hallways can use replacement, but we didn't notice much more that is needed.  Its an older ship, so you cant change decor.  Furniture in lounges and theater were very good.  We had a suite which was beautiful.

According to my waiting in December, all of the MDR chairs were replaced in the last dry dock. All the public areas furniture seemed in good repair, so that doesn't seem like it will get any changes.

There isn't really much they can or will do in the dry dock, though it would be nice if they changed out the bathroom shower curtains for the sliding door enclosure.

Just add to the comments already made, with the thread title's use of the word "refurbishment", moving forward I highly doubt any Vision class ship will enter a true refurbishment in terms of adding new venues, staterooms, or other major changes. Based on their age, as long as these ships remain in service with RCCL, I would guess only those general cosmetic upgrades that would accompany future regularly scheduled required maintenance drydocks will take place.

We were onboard in April for the last two cruises (out of Norfolk) prior to drydock.  We were told by our steward that they would be replacing carpeting and some upholstery.  But, this was a technical drydock and is more about "tuning" up and painting the hull.. I know they also tore up and replaced the solarium floor.  Someone posted pictures on FB   Not sure about the solarium pool.
