Refreshment package cost if bought on board?

Recommended Posts

Son is cruising the Brilliance of the Seas at the end of the month and he was thinking of buying the refreshment package on day 3 of his 8 day cruise.  I noticed online it states it's 30% off if he buys it online.  Is this correct so he wouldn't really be saving any money waiting to purchase it later in the cruise as he would be paying 30% more?

Don't get hung up on %. The price changes daily. So the % off is irrelevant. Focus on price only.

But what is the daily cost to buy it on the ship itself?

Every sailing has it's own price. And advance online prices change daily. Dynamic pricing. Can't give you a black and white answer because it doesn't exist. Your paying less days if you buy on day 3. However, it most likely is a higher overall rate. Purchasing online in advance is almost always a better deal.

You can’t buy the refreshment package on day 3 of a cruise.

When did this change we did it a few years ago.

It likely didn’t change. Every ship and maybe even sailing probably has its own cut off in terms of being able to buy a drink package after the first day.

You won't know this until onboard, the price will be dynamic based on online sales already made.

Your son may get lucky buying on day 3 and save some money but I have never seen on board package prices anywhere near some of the online sale prices.

What is the cost for a single mocktail with no package?

That probably varies a bit but around $8 - break even is about 5 drinks. The app may list some.

Is there a Starbucks on the Brilliance that offers drinks included with the refreshment package like on the Navigator?

No standalone venue but Cafe Latitudes may use Starbuck beans.

I would recommend purchasing the beverage package pre-cruise when it's on sale. Not sure why you'd want to wait until day 3 unless it's a money issue. When it's on sale, it's certainly a good value if you use it to get fresh squeezed juices, premium coffees, bottled water, and milkshakes at Johnny rockets. It also comes with a refillable souvenir soda cup.

The cost is likely to be higher should you wait to purchase onboard.

The FAQ on the Royal Caribbean website says they stop selling the packages after day two.
