If the app is correct, you have Eddie Jenkins as your cruise director..we’ve had him before and he was wonderful. If you get a chance can you see if he’ll still be on for the May 24th sailing? TIA! Cathy Yes, Eddie Jenkins. I will try to verify if he will still on board end of May.
Rare Chrissi3010 Posted April 23 Author #77 Share Posted April 23 We had a very stormy night and it's still very rough. I had to take a pill against sea sickness. :-(

Yes Welsh - accents are tricky, I don't think Welsh is strong but then I grew up with thick Scottish accents with my grandmother. Then again people in Canada ask me to repeat as they don't understand my English - I'm English 🤣

Will also be on the 2025 TA Lisbon to Buenos Aires, lots of firsts for me since I’ve never been to South America.

Thanks When cruising I take Bonine and wear a ReliefBand when the ship is moving. Dramamine works but makes me drowsy. Ginger and pressure bands do nothing for me. Haven’t tried the patch. I like the ReliefBand Sport model because it’s rechargeable. There are also battery models. Amazon has the ReliefBand but it’s expensive. Your best bet is to go to the website and watch for a sale (20-30% off). The one time my preventatives failed me was my previous cruise on the Reflection when I was in a far forward cabin where there is more motion. Rough weather a couple days. No more forward cabins for me. I’m fine with aft cabins. The least motion is mid-ship, lower deck. But looking out a window on a very low deck (for example Deck 3 by the Passport Bar) makes me immediately nauseous. I guess because the view is wave level. sailor moon Posted April 23 #86 Share Posted April 23 We just finished today the transatlantic crossing from Fort Lauderdale to Lisbon Portugal on the Equinox 😊 (April 11-23). Same stops in Bermuda and Ponta Delgada - Azores and then on to Porto Lisbon with the ending in Lisbon. The seas were rough in the beginning and then became like glass after the Azores.

I don’t think Eddie has a very strong Welsh Accent, but I grew up in Cardiff, as I believe he did as well. He gave some very interesting lectures on Wales though. bikerunner Posted April 23 #88 Share Posted April 23 (edited) Jumping on adding to thread. Cruise has been great some rocky seas but went thru some stormy weather and lots of rocking seas. No such thing as walking in a straight line at this point. Could be the world class bar fault but also ship is rocking. Crew has been outstanding. It is a chic night tonight. The captain is not Kirk but captain Nigel. Have not gotten last name. But he has a good sense of humor on his announcements. Crew likes him from talking to them. Some guests are definitely inconsiderate towards staff overall. I’m an observer and worked in hospitality industry so I do question and ask staff about it. update captain nigel smith. Wales Ireland. Rare Chrissi3010 Posted April 24 Author #92 Share Posted April 24 Last night was evening chic and officers soiree in the retreat lounge. We met nice people from California and Amsterdam and decided to have dinner together in Luminae. We enjoyed the evening so much that I totally forgot to take any pictures. Our waiter in Luminae is Alfred who already knows all our preferences. I love macarons and so he gave me a little bag full of them when we left Luminae last night. We then went to the Show, Life. We already knew it from another cruise but nevertheless enjoyed it. After that I still sang along Abba Songs in the grand Foyer and gave a little donation to the Casino .
Rare Chrissi3010 Posted April 24 Author #93 Share Posted April 24 (edited) This morning is relaxed. After a little walk on the track we sit on the retreat deck, had a ginger ale and were offered some fruits. Rare Chrissi3010 Posted April 24 Author #95 Share Posted April 24 Lunch in Luminae yesterday: Petit Filet Mignon with some fried shrimps as a side dish (little add on from our waiter) and white chocolate mousse.
