Carnival Spirit Dry Dock - January 2025

Recommended Posts

They will probably add an ADA lift to the pool, add wheelchair spots to some of the bars, remove a lounge for more staterooms, and repaint the hull.

Hi there!  Any ideas what kind of updates we will see in Spirit's dry dock in January 2025?   Hoping there's a thermal spa!

That's not going to happen. In fact probably the opposite. On the Pride drydock they removed the hot tub that was in the middle of the gym and used that whole are as the fitness center. They did a facelift of both spa/gym locker rooms with everything brand new.

Carnival has mostly been removing casino bars for more slot machines, ripping out lounges for more staterooms, rebranding the sports bars to the Hero bar, and repainting the hull. They've also been adding more ADA accessibility features, like lifts at the main pool.

The days of Carnival dramatically overhauling ships during drydocks seems to be over for now. Although I think many of their ships could use it.

Any details about the drydock will be listed here. But more than likely this page won't be updated until well after the drydock when any changes have already been discussed here and elsewhere on the internet, like JH's page.

If they follow the formula for the Pride and Legend the nightclub will become one level with 5 new ADA rooms and a dedicated chefs table below it will be added. The hot tub in the gym will go the way of the dodo. Below is what happened to the Legend recently.

If you like the card room on deck 2 it appears it was spared on the Legend and The Adventures store was placed on deck 3 near the photo area. The Pride lost its card room near the coffee spot on deck 2 to the Adventures store. I checked it out in March on the Pride and it seemed like a giant thermos shop to me 😉 . So hopefully the Spirit keeps its card room. We have enough people playing games in the Lido restaurant already.

I resist the urge to not comment on people squatting on tables to play cards, when a restaurant is for eating, whenever I see this happening.

I was just on the Spirit 2 weeks ago and can tell you the ship actually looks very good.  The elevators need cosmetic repair, lots of pealing wallpaper, scrapes, paint repairs.  Other than that, replacing mattresses maybe,  and a big deep cleaning of carpets and common areas, we really didn't notice anything bad.

It already has the Bonsai Sushi restaurant added, so they don't need to do that like they will be doing to the Miracle in drydock April.
