no, the TA has to have existing group space in inventory to add you

Well, I thought that was obvious.  And it was mention in the next post after mine.

You also can't book direct if there's no space in inventory.

Yes, of course. Did I say you could?

Add me to the list of people who have never used a TA. I have been on 82 cruises and booked all of them myself. Most I booked online with a few over the phone and a few on a ship. I completely understand people who use a TA for perks and possibly lower group fares. But I like having complete control over my bookings and I have always booked new ships the day bookings were available. I paid less for two Icon cruises in balconies this year including NYE, than prices I currently see online for one cruise on Icon. I am of the belief that no one is going to care more about my cruise than me (the same applies for hotels, airlines, etc.).

Yeah but mine is an aft facing balcony...  and it was a refundable deposit...

Way better deal than your interior.

We got a aft facing balcony cabin on a higher demand week (departing the Saturday after Thanksgiving) for $40 less than you and we got $100 OBC from our TA... 🙂

You have control but my agent is better at controlling my booking than I could ever hope to be.

I think most of us that are advocates for cruise TA's will concede that not all TA's are alike.  When you find a good one they are worth their weight in gold.

BecciBoo...... To us seems like you got a good deal also.

We are looking at the week after Thanksgiving or a couple weeks after. Right in that area.
