Where will NCL cut costs/raise revenue next?

Sadly... YES!!!!  Especially the lazier ones.  😉

And no one said anything about "telling them what to do".  Just that they could mine the "wisdom" (and jokes) of the collective CC community for even more ideas of what to slash next.

A distinction without a difference for sure.

Are we imagining a world where cruise line employees have no idea how to do their job so they turn to random strangers on an Internet forum to tell them what to do?

It should be obvious that many Cruise Critic posters believe they have superior knowledge in cruise ship design, operation, and finances than the professionals that are actually trained and responsbile for such.

NCL can go virtual realty cruising.  Put you up in one of their hotels give you a pair of virtual reality headwear.  Strap it on, and never leave your room for the length of the cruise.  Food ( set menu) is delivered daily to your hotel room. Turn down still once per night/day.  All shore excursions are done via the virtual reality headset.  No passports needed, no cruise ships needed.  One can still go outside and explore, but it will probably be in an industrial part of town

( just like many ports are now), so Im sure it would be a quick return to "virtual reality".

That would check the box of 'sail and sustain' for environmental reasons.

But, the constant barrage of whining about mainly silly things (hashborwns?  really?)

Hey, leave my beloved hashbrowns out of this! Some things matter. Take out your frustration on the cookie whiners.

I will again suggest that reducing the Casino staff, and number of obnoxious machines would be a start.  Get them out of the hallways, and enforce a smoking to a limited back corner of the casino, or not at all.

Does the art auction make any money at all?  Does it matter to anyone?  I see the same things again and again.  Very few I would ever consider placing on one of my walls.

You've obviously never been to one. When people leave their brains at home, insanity ensues. They make a fortune.

Oddly enough, wine is free and plentiful.  Cookies are not.  Oh well, if I had to choose...😎

DSC increase. 22% service charge up from the current 20%. Pure cash grab for NCL.

I'll gladly pay the difference if all the whiners who swear off NCL for this stuff really do take their whining to a different cruise line.

You'd probably have better success paying the whiners directly. We just booked a HAL cruise for October. A refreshing $17 per day not $20, 18% service charge, not 20%. You didn't even have to pay us, unless of course you want to. We accept Venmo, Paypal and Zelle. 😁

I know....right? I go on the HAL board and they are saying the same about NCL. I am going to get a first hand experience so I can decide for myself.

Yep, all that and an additional $2-300 per night higher comparable cost. What a deal.

OMG. Did you pay HAL that much more per night? Our entire HAL cruise is less than $60 pp per day with the more equitable fees. Ugh. My condolences to you and yours, Wayward Son.

I did say "comparable cost". Did you purchase "Have it All" which includes the drink package, wifi, specialty dining, and shore excursion credits (which are included on NCL)? Are you circling Great Britain, or taking a standard cruise in the Caribbean? Are you sailing in shoulder season? We're in summer season. Details matter.
