cruiseforus Posted June 20 #1 Share Posted June 20 Are there any other places for lunch on the day we board other than the buffet? is the main dining room open?
CruisersTimesThree Posted June 20 #2 Share Posted June 20 The MDR is open for lunch for concierge class cabin passengers, b2b passengers and Zenith Club level guests only on embarkation day. Luminae, the Suite dining venue is open for Suite class passengers only. Options for all other cabin classes are the buffet, the Mast Grill (burgers and hot dogs one deck above the pool) the spa cafe may be open as well as Sushi on 5 (fee to eat there)

HBDave Posted June 20 #4 Share Posted June 20 I know it's been stated that B2B Passengers can attend the Concierge Lunch on embarkation day. Is this for both cruises or only the second one?

As already noted the B2B passengers are invited to the concierge class embarkation lunch on the turnaround day -- but the caveat is that there can't be too many B2B passengers. A friend experienced this recently when there were somewhere around 400 B2B passengers on a trans-Atlantic. The B2B passengers were denied as they were told that many would overwhelm the embarkation lunch
Rare hcat Posted June 20 #7 Share Posted June 20 guess, we will try the buffet when we cruise on ECLIPSE..seems the sushi place menu is more limited than Raw on 5..E Class.. and not many other choices! (we are paying so much for AQ Class with BLU included...no lunch there... we will try to limit our specialty dining costs!)

We find that waiting to have lunch until around 1:15 - 1 30 means far fewer people and a more pleasant experience.

We did a b2b in April and were told b2b cruisers could no longer eat in the MDR on embarkation day.
Rare cruisestitch Posted June 20 #11 Share Posted June 20 Depends on the numbers. b2B on Solstice this month and the lunch was available on turnaround day as there were just a handful of consecutive cruisers. But on silhouette in May on the transatlantic, there were 400 consecutive and they were not invited to the concierge lunch on the turnaround day.
