I’ve never seen it so I thought it disappeared. I will have to look on my next cruise. Did you notice if there was any made with almond milk or coconut milk?

They've been on the app on our last few cruises, didn't actually see them physically, because we didn't order them.

The ship cake is on display next to Guest Services today. I would be drooling all shift long if I had to work next to a giant cake.

If you like Princess, take out a Future Cruise Deposit for $100 CDN from your credit card that you used for the cruise.  You do not need to decide now for a new cruise, you have one year to book if not used refund to credit card.  You get OBC depending on length of cruise and cabin category.  Visit Future Cruise desk and fill in form and drop in box there, or on TV/app.

Everyone is different, of course.  I love Tiramisu if I'm going to have a dessert.  For me, the biggest waste of calories are those dirty banana and mud slide drinks.  That's like half your daily intake right there.

It’s vacation, doesn’t count!🤣

Hi Sweetie,

How is Dad doing?

Another Excessive Heat Advisory has been posted for the Walla Walla Valley until late Sunday evening.  Even then it is not much of a break ( mid to high 90's F through the 24th of July).

More earthquakes are being reported in the Pacific Ocean off the West Coast of Vancouver Island.

BIG BIG BIG BIG HUG

Love and prayers always,

Mandy

Just found this thread and loving it.  Last year I read your live report from Norwegian Star and thought it was spot on in the description of the Star. This really makes me want to try a Princess cruise. We took a Princess cruise 10 years ago and felt the passengers were a good bit older than us. I think now we have aged into that demographic. 😀

we visited Nuuk last year when we were on the Star, we loved Nuuk. So glad that you are at least going to make that Greenland port.

I LOVE this cake! As much as I'd want to eat it, I would hate to cut into it, too. Yummm, cake!🎂🍰🚢

If you like museums, Nuuk has a great museum for such a small town. Also we saw a whale spouting out in the bay when we were walking around Nuuk.

How far is the museum from the port? Is it walkable?

Princess is going a bit faster last night into this morning ... good, get ahead of the approaching weather system. 🫢

Enjoying the misty view outside, seas looking calm this far.

At the history of whiskey class we learned that whiskey can lower cholesterol and prevent colds. Apparently I need to increase my whiskey consumption so will get right on that.

The fellow doing the presentation was the liquor specialist from the gift shop so there was a “come and buy from us” component but I still enjoyed the presentation.

I also enjoyed the samples of Gentleman Jack and Chivas Regal.

Afternoon tea

I sat next to Barbara and Al from southern Australia (right on the coast) and really enjoyed chatting with them.

I asked if they had scones without raisins but they didn’t

The scone was warm and delicious once I deraisinified it.

Sadly, salads are no longer available at the IC.

It's cheap sandwich carb city. We usually get 2 or 3 sandwiches and just eat whatever's inside and leave the bread.

Alfredo on Regal had pasta and an eggplant dish, perfect for lunch with a small salad. Sadly other ships didn't have either just pizza.

Sad to hear no salads at IC? Loved the chicken salad, not in a sandwich.

Guinness World Record: world’s largest pizza party at sea

IMG_7097.thumb.jpeg.7636ca65884580bdf08a9161a333c02d.jpeg

Princess ships around the world:

6:00pm for us

5:00am in Japan

12:00pm in Alaska

10:00pm in Italy

The official rule is everyone has to eat two full slices (including the crust) and have a drink.

For organization passengers gathered on the Lido deck at 5:15pm. Let me set the scene: it’s the northern Atlantic Ocean and we are clocking time fast so a brisk breeze was blowing. Within moments my fingers were so numb I didn’t know how I would be able to hold a piece of pizza.  I got some towels and my woollen toque and bundled up. What I actually needed was one of those ice suits people don for Antarctic expeditions.

Management was handing out shore excursion stickers in groups of 50 and each group had a designated freezer/area of the Lido deck.

I tried to take a selfie but the cold made my nose drip and freeze and I’m not posting a photo of me with dangling droplets.

They are filming for a TV show and asked us to sing the Love Boat song. I don’t know the Love Boat song so I sang On Top of Old Smokey since it has spaghetti in it and that has tomato sauce just like pizza.

The officers, management and crew seem to like to take photos of themselves.

IMG_7099.thumb.jpeg.ffe40628e7213f87beae680a8cb13d0d.jpeg

Our hotel GM Francisco was in constant contact with Guinness officials. We could not eat until 6:00pm.

Each group had a pizza official known as a pizza wrangler who led us to the pizza pick up station and supervised the consumption of the pizza.

We had 10 groups of 50 plus a 100 crew members so 600 frozen people eating fresh, not frozen, pizza

The pizza chefs had not premade enough pizza and they ran out of pizza at group 14 and were tossing dough frantically.

IMG_7095.thumb.jpeg.5ef8a38cc1ad6dde338abe7e17d6c0ea.jpeg

I don’t know if they expected a ruckus, but this is the first time I’ve seen security out and about on the ship.

As we shivered and waited I noticed that you got what you got. The group ahead of mine got sausage so I was relieved when they brought out cheese pizza for group 15.

There were strict rules and we weren’t allowed to leave after eating our slices. However, this introverted non-people-loving, non-touchy-feely cruiser made a swift departure when the cruise director said that as the temperature had dropped so drastically we should do the world’s largest group hug at sea.
