And, FWIW we were on the port side for the Norway section of the trip and we really enjoyed that side. In other words, I'm not sure it matters all that much. Keep in mind in the fjords that you will see one side on the way in and the other side on the way out.

I was so impressed I bought his memory stick with a load of hypnosis for various sports, confidence, positivity and smoke addiction etc. I wanted it to improve my golf game, but after many listens I can't honestly say it made any difference. The memory stick did lighten my wallet by $115 however! 😂 I remember. On the bright side, he’s charging $125 now! 😂

Your pictures are wonderful. I may have missed it but I didn't see pictures of your suite anywhere. I know you are in a full suite but wonder which type and location. We are booked on the Sky for its TA next year in a full suite and curious if you are enjoying the one you are in. Your cruise(s) have great itinerary, I'm sure the rest of the trip will be marvelous. Hi Gracie! We are in one of the Vista Suites on the Sun Deck 17 Forward. Here are some photos. And, yes, we are having an awesome time in one of these suites! 😁

But don’t tell anyone I told you that, as it’s supposed to be a secret 😁 1
Rare Ken the cruiser Posted July 23 Author #255 Share Posted July 23 (edited) Here are some photos from our excursion today (Part 1). Our bus was about 2/3 full, which made it very comfortable. Our first stop, which was also the only castle on this tour where went inside, was the Frederiksborg Castle. The original alter from the 17 century. View of the outside from one of the rooms we walked through. Edited July 23 by Ken the cruiser
Rare Ken the cruiser Posted July 23 Author #256 Share Posted July 23 Part 2 with visits to the Kronborg Castle and then onto the Fredensborg Castle. But of course we also saw some wildlife along the way, as one might imagine! Like some horses! These were from the grounds of the Kronborg Castle. Also saw a bunch of Mallards swimming in the pond and this Black-headed Gull, which took a few minutes to get photos of before it decided I was getting too close! 😂 Then it was time to head towards the Fredensborg Castle. The drive took us by some fancy homes along the coastline. Check out the Roomba-like self-guiding lawn mower mowing the grass in front of this home. We also saw these in Norway. Of course, we had to stop and see the Little Mermaid! 😁 And then finally, you guessed it, the elusive Copenhagen Pigeon just dropped down in front of me at the Kronborg Castle just asking to take its picture! 😂

No way. I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen it. It’s just something every Copenhagen excursion has to take you too. It’s like going on a St Thomas excursion in the Caribbean and for them not to go to the Gift Shop overlooking Megan’s Bay! 😂

I'm loving this whole thread as we are booking the same itinerary for next year, and in doing my research I was actually so surprised to find out how tiny the statue really is. But somehow that made it all the more charming to me. I would literally not be able to imagine going there and not getting that iconic photo and seeing it in person, no matter how small. It is just one of those iconic landmarks that defines certain places - like the Empire State Building in NYC, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or Big Ben in London. Just on a very much smaller scale! 2
Rare Ken the cruiser Posted July 23 Author #261 Share Posted July 23 And we’re off with 🤞 that we’ll have another pretty sunset around 9:30 as the sky continues to try to clear away the clouds over Denmark. Next stop is Warnemunde, Germany! And the weather forecast for Warnemunde-Rostock looks like it will be partly sunny, in the mid 60s, but a little breezy with 20+ mph winds. Should be fun times tomorrow as our excursion will be traveling by bus, boat, and trolley train! 😂

Not even told the wife yet!😉

But don’t tell anyone I told you that, as it’s supposed to be a secret 😁 We've done a fair number of cruises and yet to do an aft cabin. We've talked about it, but I keep coming back to I like to be able to look and see where I'm going! Which brings me to an interesting point about Sky: I think this is the first cruise ship I've been on that didn't have a public space with a view out over the bow. The Sanctuary looks over the bow but you have to pay for that. That's the only place! One of these trips we're going to try an aft.

FWIW we have cruised most of the time these past few years, except for this cruise, in an aft-facing cabin. Another thing to consider besides the views out both sides as well as the aft is the weather. Ever wonder how the effects of the weather might be in an aft-facing cabin with a covered balcony? They definitely came in handy on our recent Alaska and Antarctica/SA cruises. Also another itinerary that works well with an aft-facing cabin is one that takes you through either the Panama or Suez Canal. Just some things to consider.

Rare Ken the cruiser Posted July 23 Author #266 Share Posted July 23 Tonight’s evening show in the theater was an encore performance by vocalist Peter Howarth. Then a super fun Majority Rules in Princess Live. Unfortunately, by the time we got back to the cabin the sun had set.

Rare Ken the cruiser Posted July 24 Author #275 Share Posted July 24 Here are some photos from our 4.5 hour excursion today. We first headed to Schwerin Castle , which was about an hours drive. Cows! Scenic view point of Schwerin Castle. Before touring tge inside of tge castle, we took a boat ride around Lake Schwerin. Then it was time for the tour of the castle. After lunch we had some free time in the local square. m Then it was time to head to Rostock, which took about an hour. m
