Rare 1025cruise Posted July 7 #2 Share Posted July 7 I'm just going to say that 5 days in October in Alaska is the wrong time of year to be visiting Alaska.

Davevics25 Posted July 7 Author #4 Share Posted July 7 Thanks . Just wondering about the 5 sea days really . Wondering if it will be outside pool weather or jumpers and coats . Appreciated though
mtnesterz Posted July 7 #5 Share Posted July 7 (edited) If I understand your itinerary correctly, Princess doesn't do this, but IIRC, NCL does. Not brushing you off, but those on that board may have sailed this one in the past. I will say the roughest waters we've ever sailed were off the coast of Alaska. The waters there can toss a ship around. It wasn't that cold, but... rough. Layer as you would for any cruise, but plan to bring something for Mal de mer. Arizona Wildcat Posted July 7 #6 Share Posted July 7 Humm. Weather in Hawaii likely Tobe good but storms (sometimes major) certainly possible. You then say your cruise has 5 days in Alaska. ??? Presume several in between, but ocean weather in the Alaska panhandle is almost always cool. Low 50s. Can be anything from stormy to clear. Not pool weather for me as an Arizona Wildcat. If from a cooler climate fine. Again leaving Hawaii 2 warm days likely. Getting a bit cooler each day.
omahabob Posted July 7 #7 Share Posted July 7 Depends on where you are. For instance, the average temperature in Juneau in October is almost 10 degrees higher than in Anchorage. May I suggest; https://akclimate.org/data All kinds of data on Alaska climate norms there.
yakcruiser Posted July 7 #8 Share Posted July 7 Probably going to be nice the first couple days out of Hawaii and then get progressively worse the farther north you get.
julig22 Posted July 7 #9 Share Posted July 7 Doing the opposite (AK to Hawaii) this October. I can let you know when I get back LOL.

The transpacific is still in hurricane season and the waters will be warm allowing lots of storms to make it from Mexico to the vicinity of Hawaii. Could be nice weather. Could be rough seas. Warm for a day, then getting cool then cold. Edited July 7 by BirdTravels
