sjde Posted July 7 #1 Share Posted July 7 We are looking at possibly the Westin or Embassy Suites -any comments on these or other suggestions? TIA!
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 8 #2 Share Posted July 8 The Embassy Suites is currently being renovated. It also tends to be a bit pricey for what it is.

nhraformula00 Posted July 8 #4 Share Posted July 8 There are plenty of hotels along 17th street that are all nicer than E,S, All within 1 mile of the port entrance.
northofnowhere Posted July 8 #5 Share Posted July 8 I Drive down the day before and have been happy with Comfort Suites on US 1. 2 miles to park N Go and another mile to the cruise terminal. Reasonable rates and I've always had a good experience. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Comfort+Suites+Fort+Lauderdale+Airport+%26+Cruise+Port,+302+N+Federal+Hwy,+Dania+Beach,+FL+33004/Port+Everglades+Cruise+Terminal+25,+Eller+Drive,+Hollywood,+FL/@26.0723425,-80.1394441,15z/data=!3m2!4b1!5s0x88d9000c2074b479:0x54dda076e6b3a4d!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x88d9aa5fe2f32fc9:0xd500aa3ac3454cd7!2m2!1d-80.1435727!2d26.0577947!1m5!1m1!1s0x88d901df7e5d96e1:0x7624ceefa59e65ff!2m2!1d-80.1148656!2d26.086819!3e0?authuser=0&entry=ttu
teknoge3k Posted July 8 #6 Share Posted July 8 We always stay at the Hilton in Ft. Lauderdale Beach. We've also stayed at the Marriot Beach Place several times also. There's also a GalleryONE we enjoy. We want to be near a beach, not an airport.

If you favor Hiltons, the Hotel Maren (a Curio Collection hotel) is beachfront and closer to Port Everglades than the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach and the Gallery One. We had a 2 night staycation there last spring (had to use up a free night award) and we recommend it. 3

Lauderdale Beach is because we really enjoy Beach Place. Lulu's Bait Shack is our favorite place to eat, and it's a short walk to Nanou French Bakery, and Boccaccino for breakfast. I am a HH Diamond member so I try to stick with Hilton as much as possible for the perks and points.

The Maren is at the south end of the beach and one of our favorite restaurants - Coconuts - is half a block away on the Intracoastal. If you've never tried it on one of your visits, we (and all our guests we've taken there) recommend it.

They had the absolute best breakfast. We'd love to sit out by the ocean and eat breakfast there. 😞

Food was not consistent. Was very good in 2022, not so much last year (my lobster roll was on a hot dog bun) Cocktails were horrible. Visually unappealing and they were poorly mixed (we couldnt finish either one). For us, too many good restaurants we want to try so we won't return. Filthy bathroom, Very slow check-in, 60-70 in line for breakfast. Ect. 2

voljeep Posted July 16 #25 Share Posted July 16 Hilton Marina has been our go to - and still have a night booked under AAA Park and Stay rate - which is no longer available. the park yourself rate is almost $50 for a night - than add the $30 resort fee (which does give you a $20 food/drink credit which we use at the pool bar). we may be rethinking our stay next cruise...
