Updated Blue Chip Club Perks

Recommended Posts

I don’t gamble beyond maybe $20 at slots.  Prefer to “lose” money at the spa. 😀. But it doesn’t seem you get much until you hit the highest tier.  If you want some of those perks, you’re better off spending the money you’d spend on gambling to book Retreat, where they are included.

It seems spending money on gambling IS like the spa. I may or may not get a great massage.  You may or may not win.  We spend money to enjoy the experience.  If you want perks, maybe better off at Vegas?

Yes mind you we just got off the eclipse last week and while playing a table game the guy next to me ordered a Stella the server asked for his sea pass card and when he brought him his Stella he told him it would be $1.00 more as he only had the classic package, really surprised me they would be so stingy.

It has always been with Celebrity That you pay the difference if the drink you ordered cost more then the beverage package covers.

I had that happen once, but then brought it up to the dealer and casino host waived the extra cost

Sheeesh.

However you brought up another good point, with so many passengers running around with drink packages you wonder how much the casino really is giving out "free" drinks.

As far as free drinks in the casino. Earlier this year on Reflection we tested the free drinks in the casino while playing. It was a joke. Hardly any servers to be found and if you wanted a drink you had to get up from the slot machine you were playing and find one to request a cocktail.

Sounds great but in reality not good..

Wow! Is this a clearer message or am I not understanding? Thought this was Bluechip so now it involves our Captains Club Elite status? So if we don’t book we lose our elite status and 5-7 happy hour?

Is anyone else not getting it or is it just me?

If you look at the blue message in post 45, the captains club status is just giving additional benefits to blue chip members. They are not changing anything about captains club.

On one cruise I was at the roulette with two gentlement and the server came by and took our drink order.  She kept cominng around about ever 15-20  minutes or so.

Our next cruise i was playing roulette for over and hour and the server never came by to take a drink order.  Suited me just fine but it was interesting that on one cruise there was a very attentive server taking drink orders in the casino and on another seemed like there were none at all.

I think that the drinks are better at the martini bar anyways...

I called into Blue Chip Club yesterday for more clarification regarding the new policy.

All perks will remain in effect on future bookings that have been confirmed until sailings for cruises being completed prior to July 31st 2025 including free play and drink packages according to the various levels. It sounds like the drink packages from sapphire players and above will terminate commencing August 01/2025.

The photo benefit will not remain in effect after July 31, 2024 according to what they told me but freeplay, pre-paid gratuities, and beverage package benefits will be in effect until July 31, 2025 for sailings before August 2025 booked and paid in full by the end of this month. There are extended deadlines for Elite and up.

How do you see what level you are at?  I logged in and did not see the Blue Chip levels.

You have to call the customer service number, they’ll tell you the amount of points you have and the tier.

LOL I got the second one today as well.  Didn't even bother to open it...DELETE.

I'm done with Celebrity Blue chip after this...

Ridiculous to give so little notice about the changes.

If I book an offer it will be to no play them.

Blue chip offshored their phone reps who can only read from scripts. Told you can't book unless you have an offer code for a specific cruise and they don't have a manager available to talk to discuss. Reps a year or two back used to be very helpful...

Hold times to reach a rep. are often ridiculous.

Other cruise programs (Carnival, Princess, NCL) treat me much better than Celebrity Blue chip and have much better customer support and management.

Can someone advise if you book a free cabin offer through your Blue Chip account do you also get your tier benefits once you get onboard (free play, beverage package, spa discount, etc.)? Basing this on being Elite Plus and Sapphire for a sailing before July 2025.

Yes correct as long as you sail prior to August 01, 2025. Received the email today regarding the exciting new blue Chip club changes.
Nothing exciting about loosing drink packages and $500 in free play starting Aug 01,2025.

That's not how I read it.  I read it to say that starting August 1, 2024 we all get wiped.  Anyone else read it differently?

Your points start at 0 on August first.  However any cruise you have already paid for before July 31st, for the next year, you will recieve the old benefits.
