Screen-shooted the stock holdings the day I submitted the request. It was verified by Stockperks and let me go to the next step. The strange part is this has worked for me on 3 previous cruises....Military+AARP+CCL. The only time I was denied the CCL OBC was when I booked a free cruise (not a casino deal). This one is a full fare w/HIA.

I expect they will sort it for you when you call, or we will all learn about some new “policy.” 2

It could happen to any of us, it is good you got it. The first letter should have stated it was already applied so kind of a fail on HAL's part.

The AARP had to be in my name since it was not combinable with one of his (I think shareholders but not positive.) I'm curious about the AARP portion. Do you each have an AARP account or both names on one account? Thanks!

0bnxshs Posted August 19 #38 Share Posted August 19 I think the real issue here is that, after all this time, HAL provides no way for a booked passenger to easily see the OBC credits that have been applied, pre-cruise, to any booking via the app or the website, no matter their source. 12

YES! That would make things much much easier.

Thanks! I set up just one AARP account in my name but he is on the account as my spouse consequently we both have the same account number. I requested the OBC in my name since the other OBC's are in his name and only one AARP can be used per cabin anyway. Hope that answers your question. It probably would have worked too if the account had been opened in his name with me as the spouse as long as I was the one requesting the OBC not him. . Thanks @0bnxshs as I had that question as well. I am tagging along here as I just submitted my OBC request as a CCL stockholder today and found this thread. I am also supposed to have a $100 OBC from the source I reserved the cruise from (not HAL directly) as well but I have yet to see any evidence of the OBC tied to my HAL booking / sailing info.
NCTribeFan Posted August 21 #45 Share Posted August 21 Just submitted mine for November cruise. We'll see. I expect it to be declined because it was a deeply-discounted offer. I'll apply for my Jan 2025 sailing in a couple of months. That was pretty much full fare but does have various different OBC already applied. I'll be very disappointed if it's declined for that one. I do recall a conversation I had with Carnival (prior to our first sailing) that aligns with what you have said here. Apparently, the period in which one can claim OBC as a stockholder is only open for limited windows at a time as Carnival Corporation periodically decides whether or not to continue the OBC offering for stockholders. For our cruise in November on HAL, I was asked to wait a bit before claiming the OBC as we reserved this cruise in very early '24 which happened to be before Carnival announced the extension of OBC for stockholders for the rest of 2024. I have to admit this program (OBC for stockholders) is an attractive one and I hope CCL continues it in the future.

I have to admit this program (OBC for stockholders) is an attractive one and I hope CCL continues it in the future. You are correct, the period has always had a limited window and the Annual Reports used to include this information and submission procedures. This past year though (2023), that changed. The Annual Report no longer addresses the Shareholder Benefit, which used to run through 31 July of the year after the year the annual report was issued in (for the 2022 Annual Report, the last time it was included in the annual report, it ran though 31 July 2024, for example.) Now, the shareholder benefit is found on the CCL corporate website under Investor Relations here: https://www.carnivalcorp.com/shareholder-information/shareholder-benefit and does state that the benefit is available through 31 December 2024, so they really only extended it for 5 additional months. Used to be extended annually through the end of July beyond. It is absolutely an attractive program and is the reason I continue to hold CCL in my portfolio.
DougandEric Posted August 21 #50 Share Posted August 21 Something to think about. I went to the StockPerks app and logged in, tried to link my E*Trade account and it wouldn't authorize. It occurred to me that I changed my access to use a security code which is through the Norton VIP Access app and StockPerks doesn't support that - at least that I can see. So I'll have to take a picture of my statement. Security can make things difficult.
