@laslomas and @Mara4166 You have to be logged in, got to manage booking then look for "legal & privacy" then click on Passage Contract.

You have to choose the right one for the area you will be cruising in.  (they are different)

For me there is one on the web and it is paragraph 5) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS; DRINKING; TOBACCO; GAMING; RECREATIONAL FACILITIES; ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.

You can also access it on the app. On the app my contract is different but the actual paragraph has the same conditions.  The relevant issue is in paragraph 30) Smoking and Vaping.

This is where I went.  I was logged in and in my booking.  No mention of smoking anywhere in the contract for UK residents for UK cruises (or my TA starting in the UK for 2026).  it also does not mention anything about bringing on alcohol.

Below is what it says in section 5.  Nothing about smoking, vaping or alcohol.

Honestly I don't think the OP's screen shot of the contract is real.  The wording is different to my passage contract and nowhere does it say: "read carefully".

I can see "read carefully" when I look at the contract via the APP and except for the actual text, the structure on my app is similar to his screenshot.  The contract app and website appear to have the same text for me, but the format is very different.

I think each country has very different contract wording which is based on the country of residency.  This can cause problems when we are all on board the same ship

Very odd.  Nothing about smoking at all?  So, you would go by what’s on the website?  If you’re looking at the UK website, any mention of smoking restrictions?  What about your travel summary at the bottom, any mention of smoking policy?

Are you looking at a UK departure booking?

UK Resident and UK departures for all of the cruises we have booked.

The travel summary does indicate no smoking in staterooms and balconies, but no mention of vaping (screenshot below).

Not an issue for me since I do not smoke or vape.  I cannot even sit at Good Spirits on Sky due to smoke coming out of the casino triggering my asthma.  I always avoid smokers and vapers so am not certain if vaping will trigger my asthma or not.

interesting.

The passage contracts I can find all say they apply to ships departing from certain ports.

When there are countries restricting vaping I can’t see Princess bringing in a policy allowing vaping in staterooms. I can see them bringing in a policy about vaping.

I’ve just looked at the contract for my upcoming bookings. I get identical wording in Section 5 about vaping being allowed in cabins for sailings from the UK, the US, Aregentina, and Japan. (I’m a US resident and of them were booked from the US.) I wish I had an older contract for comparison.

It is a screenshot from the Princess app.  Others have the same wording.

It is real.  The passage contract is different in Australia.

I have checked our three upcoming cruise contracts and found this in all three.  A couple of things come to mind:  first, give an inch they will take a mile, try to confine it to the interior of the cabin and they "will be" on the balcony.  Next, arrive at your cabin and smell that stuff, which by the way, will remain in the carpet, drapes, bedding and other materials and I would be demanding to speak directly to the Hotel Manager.  I just don't know where the heads of the Princess suits are.  Any guesses?  😂

Same. I'm over here giggling. Cruise citric always puts on a good show.

I have to agree with you.  Heavy perfume or aftershave will set off my asthma.  We have had to move tables at restaurants a few times to get away from excessive smell.

Twenty-one posts until you shared your concern. That's gotta be a record. 🤪

I wish all of you would complain about smoking in the casino instead.

Previous posts got dusted.  I did not want this one to be...

Smoking in the casino can be avoided.  Your cabin cannot be avoided.

When I told my DW about the issue,  her response was Ewwww   gross.

Totally different wording in my contract regarding alcohol and no mention of vaping. Section 8 covers alcohol use but not vaping……

I’m just wondering why they are allowing this all of a sudden? Maybe there are thousands of people that vape that stopped booking Princess and gave this as the reason.🙄

Younger demographics.  Vaping tends to be popular with younger generations.  We know Princess is trying to attract a younger customer base.

It seems to me that if people want to vape / use e-cigarettes in their cabin, they will do, whether or not it is permitted in policy.  In fact, I'd be very surprised if it hasn't been going on for years, across all lines.  I have never seen a thread on these boards where a poster has suggested that they've moved into a cabin with a residual smell that they ascribe to vape / e-cigarette use.

😳I don’t like either of those choices!  Lol

Some of the crew members bathe in cologne.  I have to move away.

Guess this is very general.  Good to know, though.

What is concerning to me, is that the paraphernalia they use could be permitted OB and if so, how do they check the liquid or other stuff they can use in it?
Seems to me, it’s left wide open for security inspection and implementation of rules.  If other substances were used, I would not be able to stay in that cabin.

So far, only restrictions I have seen for no vaping in cabins is out of Australia and Quebec.

Still don’t know about Japan, NZ, Singapore, etc.  Anyone have a cruise departure for other areas, check your App, passenger contract on that cruise for us.  TIA
