Sticky Situation-Noisy neghbors in the middle of the night on the Jewel

Recommended Posts

Erin - I don't speak American - what is an "um honeymoon"??

We are on the Jewel in a few weeks - hope to have this couple next door - can get a real laugh the first night and complain to Reception the second!! Where I come from, I would be called a "spoil sport"!!!

Seriously, I always take earplugs. On one cruise, the next door neighbours put their TV on full volume at 6.00am every morning - complaints to reception were ignored by them. Some people just don't have any consideration for others - but woe betide you if you disturb them!! Thats what I did eventually - put my TV on full volume at 3.00 am. They got that message!!! And complained to Reception - who phoned me laughing so hard they could hardly speak!!!

Reminds me of our cruise on the Dawn...seems there were an amorous French couple in the next cabin.....woke me up around 3 a.m.

Lots of oui oui oui...etc...you get the picture

Funny thing was the next day when we were leaving our cabin they were leaving at the same time and to our surprise there were 3 guests in the cabin.

Boy was I in shock...

i suppose hollerin' "is that all ya got?' after the ...completion, or perhaps "encore! encore!" would have been out of character for you?

or with the "don't stop" as a lead in, you could reply "sweetheart, i think its safe to say he ain't stoppin!"

out on the balcony, saying hello across/around the divider, it was fair game to say "you know, the walls are reeeeaaalllllyyy thin."

and i agree you did keep your nose in your own biz--that reply seemed off the mark.

me, i'd have appreciated the free porn show w/o having to pay twelve bucks to spectravision (i know, they dont have that on the ship), and would have been glad that at least SOMEONE was gettin' laid on the ship. and once would have been enough and i'd have not been subtle (no need to be shy once you've practically experienced sex with these people). note under the door was a fine suggestion.

On our last cruise on the Grand Princess, night of departure our neighbors were "having a good time" out on their balcony. I went out there before dinner to hear quite a production.

Saw them later in the cruise, it was kinda embarassing, I kept staring at them and that is all I could think of.

Honestly I didn't mind it, I would do the same thing if I could guarantee that no one would peek around the balcony divider.

I was also staying at my sister’s one summer weekend, and went for a walk early in the AM before it got too hot out. Her neighbors didn’t have AC, so all the windows were open, and I could seriously hear them down the street. When I laughed about it with my sister later, she said they’re at it like that all the time. Middle of the day, at night, early morning, whenever. Sister said it was really distracting during the block yard sale.

Wouldn't it have been great if there had been only ONE person in that room? AND he was at your dining table!-"Pass the bread please,...... NO! not with THOSE hands!!"

Love this thread! Great entertainment! :D

I remember a movie once that a couple was "making noise" for the benefit of others to hear.....just to make them think it was actually happening.

One can only imagine!!!! :D

'zona... You may be referring to the movie "The Cooler." That was popping into my mind when I read the OP. If y'all haven't seen it you should rent it. The guy lives in a hotel and his neighbors are a little loud, so he gets back at them in a big way. That scene is hilarious!

When my wife and I first got married, we lived in an apartment with paper thin walls. Our neighbor, Sandra Oh (not the actress) and her boyfriend, Baaaby (never caught his last name) really loved each other. I mean they really, REALLY loved each other... all the time, day and night. And seemingly in all rooms of the apartment, because we could hear them no matter where we were, inside or out of our apartment. We just enjoyed the entertainment and laughed about it... until my conservative, straight-laced parents came over to visit us during one of the neighbor's...er, "dates". In between Dad's, "Boy that was some weather we had last night!" and my "Did y'all catch that game the other day?" we finally decided it was time to go out to eat... From then on we just banged on the walls.

All I can say is that if I hear any of that from the room next door, I'm throwing myself overboard. My dear, sweet, wonderful parents are in the cabin next to us. Yes, I'm sure 'it' happens but I sure as heck don't want to hear it!!!!!

Did I remember to tell you about the video cam??? Just borrow a broom stick from housekeeping and use some duct tape to attach your video cam so you can sling the cam over to the other balcony!!! You can always hook another line up to your cabin TV set just to make sure you are getting good reception of the other couple!!! When you hit St. Thomas you can have some extra tapes made for distribution. Throw a party in your cabin and invite some of your new Cruise Critic friends over so you can play the tape at your party!!! Just make sure you have your volumn on full...LOL!!!

Jean, Wrona - let me tell you about the time that I went to my Dad's house (he was 80 at the time, and my Mom had just passed away about six months prior.....) to pick up a few things.........and found ***** on the kitchen table!!!!!

I do not know anyone who likes to think that there parents did, or even worse, still do THAT. I for one like to picture that they found me and my sister on the doorstep and took us in. The only other alternative was that they did it 2 times and were so stinking drunk they did not know what they were doing and do not remember anything. Those thoughts keep me sane!!!
