JeanfromBNA Posted October 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2007 We're trying to get an idea of our budget for an Alaskan trip. My husband doesn't drink, so buying a bottle of wine would be wasteful, and I enjoy trying new wines. About how much does a glass of wine with dinner cost? What about mixed drinks? Rare Jim_Iain Posted October 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2007 Drinks would run from about $5.50 - 10.00. Celebrity has a wonderful service regarding wine. You can buy a bottle of wine and only drink what you wish. Your Sommelier will have it capped and saved for you. It will be waiting for you at your table the next evening. It is great for partners where only one drinks. You can also buy wine by the glass or by the 1/2 bottle.
Rare Lois R Posted October 25, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2007 Hi, I agree with Jim's comments about the bottle. Unless of course you want to try a different wine each evening;) I think a glass will probably run you in the 7.00 range..depending on the wine. Not all of them are sold by the glass. Enjoy your cruise:)

crazybus Posted October 25, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2007 If you plan on drinking Martini's they run about 10.00! Start saving your money. Everyday they have drink specials, which are around 5 or 6 dollars.
valandjerry Posted October 25, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2007 Although the martinis cost about $10.00 the glasses are far from small. Believe me, three of them will put you out for the night peacefully.
Billiam Posted October 25, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 25, 2007 I returned a couple weeks ago from the Galaxy and the Kettle 1 martini's I enjoyed each evening were $7.00+ gratuity. I ordered a glass of house Cabernet the first night for my wife and myself and the bill was over $20. That lost me for the trip with wine. Usually we have a glass and sometimes 2 but not for that amount. I would have expected the cost to be $6-7 and we'd be fine to drink the entire trip. They did offer the bottle as mentioned above but I wanted to sample before buying. I consider the drinks to be reasonable and they had daily specials for less than $5. They were bloody mary, margarita, etc. Have a great trip.

I do one before dinner and am happy:D ..... Now on Caribbean Cruises, I enjoy a mudslide during the day too:)
bigwally Posted October 25, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 25, 2007 I seem to recall a glass of wine being about $10, a Kaluha/creme being about $8, and an imported beer being about $6. This was on Century. I can verify this when I can take a look at my shipboard account receipts later.
sasset Posted October 25, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 25, 2007 On Infinity to Hawaii in 2004 and 2005 beers were two for the price of one on sea days at the aft bar. This was not offered on the Millenium transatlantic last year, so it may depend on the itinerary. Regards

Costest Posted October 26, 2007 #17 Share Posted October 26, 2007 beer snob here :o Prices on beers and is there any tap selection at all to choose from or is it an all Bud/Miller scene? Corona or Heiniken were bucket of 5 for price of 4. (pool/deck bars) And I recall Alaskan Amber on our PNW cruise. I don't drink dark beer but micro brews were a bit scarce as I recall. One day at lunch I ordered a glass thinking she would as well. She didn't which shocked the heck out of me. When mine came, before I even saw the bill, her comment was, you will soon see why I decided to skip it this time. I have to admit I was expecting more like $7.00. From then on I opted to drink water (which is better for me anyway) at lunch. Nita
