If I were CEO of RCL I would make an incognito visit to one of my ships to taste the food, ask people how they liked it and what could be done to make it better, I would behave like a passenger and see how the staff treated me..I would go to the pursers desk and ask every asinine question I could and see what kind of answer they gave..I would watch the shows to see if people were having a good time and if not I would ask them why...If I were on the LOS and even had a whiff of that awful sewage smell I would demand to know where it was coming from. I would bring the price of bingo down to a level where people actually could afford to play more than one set between their family. I would go up to the bartenders and ask for a soda with my little card and if they had that "look" on their face I would say do you do that to all those who bought soda cards? I mean get real I am the CEO of RCL one of the largest cruise lines in the world..I have PLENTY of money and could retire tomorrow, but if my line were failing at anything..pride alone would have me wanting to make it the best in the world. Just MHO!:D

Same principle....I am sure RCI has some inside quality control checks.

Love your # 8. Radiance class are the perfect ships to me. I have been on Explorer and that is the biggest I have been on or care to be on and I felt claustrophobic in the promenade. I know many like it but give me all the beautiful views and glass of the Radiance.

 

I agree, the Radiance class is perfect, though I was on Liberty in Sept and felt less claustrophobic than on the 2 Explorer cruises I've taken.

Definitely make very tight restrictions on smoking; the cruise lines are way to lax and permit far too much smoking. Not only would this make cruising far more pleasant for most people, but would increase corportate earnings through less cleaning expenses, lower insurance, and increased bookings.

1. Build more Radiance class ships

2. Some non-smoking cabins on every ship

3. Either enforce the dress codes, or get rid of them

4. Change the menus more often. For those of us who cruise frequently, those menus become awfully boring after a while.

5. Allow at least two bottles of wine to be brought on board, per adult passenger

6. Enforce the chair hog rules

7. Have bathtubs in all cabins with balconies

8. Put all unruly passengers off at the next port

9. Have more late night shows on Radiance, Voyager and Freedom class ships

10. Have the late night munchies available in certain select areas so that we don't have to hunt down the person serving them

11. Increase the minimum age in the Solarium to 21 and over

12. Loosen up those slot machines... :D

I agree. I believe smokers should be able to enjoy thier cruise too. However, they should update the ventilation system in the areas that allow smoking. Maybe instead of having the casino in an open area have it some place where it can be closed off with doors. Even something like a glass partition would work and have it's on ventilation system.

RCCL ventilation is sooo much better than Carnival's and until 13 days ago I smoked and it bothered me on their ships the Destiny was really awful.

 

Nanfromatlanta, all cabins will be smoke free as of Jan 1 except for a couple ships in the Orient and Europe but then they will also change when they return to the Caribbean.

Yet on RCL, almost all the bars/lounges permit smoking as does the casino and all balconies. They are in the Dark Ages with their permissiveness around smoking. Allow smoking in a couple bars/lounges that have doors that prevent the smoke from permeating all surrounding venues and allow in a couple select outdoor areas. Non smokers are a huge majority and should not have to deal with frequent exposure to cigarette smoke both due to health reasons as well as the unpleasantness. Give smokers their areas, but in a manner in which non-smokers can easily avoid and does not cause non-smokers to have to avoid significant areas of the ship to have a healthy, pleasant environment (i.e. balconies, casinos, most bars/lounges).

I had to laugh at this comment, since when does anyone poor come up with enough money to cruise? You know what unpleasantness is, just my opinion, someone that decides they can put someone in the poor catagory because they smoke. You would like a pleasant environment in the bars, casinos, how could all those poor smokers afford to be gambling and smoking? You sound like someone who thinks your a notch above everyone. Maybe you should get on a more upscale ship!

• I would have monthly teleconferencing lunches with different staff from both shoreside and on board personnel at the same time thus ensuring that my staff is all on the same page regarding policies and procedures.
  
• Lobster and Baked Alaska on every single ship. Tradition is tradition, folks
  
• The money to be made in F&B has always been alcohol, stop nickel and diming on the cola and juice.
  
• If I have to keep going to Nassau then I will look into the feasibility of leasing our very own beach there for C&A members with a bar, restaurant and facilities (prices being similar to onboard)
  
• I'd dream up more combined tour packages with hotel stays/events/cruise all included and promote the heck out of them.
  
• I'd have marketing come up with exciting document packets to start to get you in the mood for your cruise rather than some boring pamphlet

Boy could this be fun...

 

First I would raise the prices of the cruises, and here is why:

 

1. Unlimited soda and alcohol (included in price)

 

2. Ditch the foreign flags and reflag all of the ships with the Good Ole USA Flag.

 

3. As result of #2, let all of the hard working foreign crew enjoy more time with their families at home. Hire a full compliment of the best service staff from the USA and have them rotate 4 weeks on 4 weeks off somewhat like the oil field crew offshore (Most of them are 7/7 or 14/14 days.) Pay decent wages where tips are earned for service above and beyond.

 

4. Add a few extra dollars to the fare to improve the food to a level comparable with the finer places in the big cities around. Also expand overall selection of food for In Room Dining.

 

5. Place a Voyager Class or bigger ship in Galveston on a mix of 7, 10, and 11 day cruises and place a smaller ship in Galveston to run 4-5 night cruises to Mexico so we can experience the RCCL service level here in Texas without having to hop a flight.

 

6. Train the phone staff so the same caller doesn't get three different answers about a policy etc... on three separate calls when there is only a single correct answer.

 

7. Set up contingent plans to cruise to Cuba as soon as legally possible.

 

8. Keep the rock wall open at least 6-8 hours per day.

 

9. Hold regular meetings with elected CC members for quarterly feedback from elected CC forum members, oh the meetings would be on a 3 night cruise.

 

10. Buy lots of natural grass fed beef from Rancher Dave offering it up in Chops. (Just won't tell DD):D

 

11. Make work even more fun than it already is.

Agree on Radiance class also -- if RCCL had picked up the option for a 5th Radiance ship, they might not have been having the problems positioning ships due to a ship shortage. Radiance class ships can go through the Panama Canal.
