PatC Posted April 7, 2009 #228 Share Posted April 7, 2009 Romuald runs a tight ship so this experience should be wonderful. We've sailed with him many times since 1992 on many ships, last one on Summit last year. He is such a gentleman and personable. He's professional and approachable and we love him. He actually remembered us, remembered our sons and enjoyed meeting our grandchildren. Last I heard he was on Infinity but I guess he's moving around again. Sure wish we'd have him on Mercury next year!!! But, being the old hand that he is, he might be moved to a new ship. He told us that he's opened almost all of the new ships in the fleet and has served on them also. He was an ass't. maitre 'd when we first met him. Enjoy your cruise Pat

Enjoy your cruise Pat Pat, :)do you recall if he is tall? With grey hair? And is he from Poland or Turkey? Sounds like a true gent! I will be meeting him next week. Actually Fabio opened Solstice. So that is the only new ship so far;) Unless you are talking about when the M class came out?
PatC Posted April 7, 2009 #230 Share Posted April 7, 2009 Yes, he's tall, grey and from Poland with a moustache. He's wonderful. I didn't mean he'd opened ALL the ships, but he has served on almost all of them in some for or other. He's not been on the Solstice and I don't know if he'd like the larger class. He's been on most of the M class and I know for a fact he served on all the Century class and Horizon & Zenith. We teased him about retiring and he said he has 1 more to get through college, then the granchildren keep him going. If you see him, say hi. He's great. Pat I think I have met him before:) but I cannot recall when:eek: Oh I was just curious about the ships:D...and it is always so nice to see familiar faces! Right now Millevoy is on Mercury. I met him back on Zenith in 2006 and then when I was on Mercury back in Sept he was there. I had not seen him for 2 years and he remembered me too.:) I will pass on your good wishes to Romauld:)

CruisingChick Posted April 24, 2009 #234 Share Posted April 24, 2009 Maria Nunes has replaced Lisa as Captain's Club Hostess on Constellation. Lisa has gone to Azamara. This happened the day after the Senior Officer's Cocktail Party on our 4/6-17 cruise. So we started with Lisa and ended with Maria. Seems like there is a lot of moving around of staff lately, or is it just me? Anne Maria

He is from the UK and extremely nice. I met him a couple of years ago on Mercury (I think). I was on the ship on April 16th. Captain's Club Hostess is Jonette. She is lovely. Sorry I don't have any other names for you.

C 2 C Posted May 1, 2009 Author #245 Share Posted May 1, 2009 Hi Arno,We just got off Century last Saturday and here is "who's on board" Astrid Thanks Astrid. Other than suffering from Cruise Withdrawal Syndrome after a great Infinity cruise, including stops in Mexico, life is great. I have never met Robert Wheatley, the CD. C 2 C Posted May 3, 2009 Author #247 Share Posted May 3, 2009 did captain pagonis really move to the constellation? does anyone know if he'll still be there in july? Captain Pagonis left Constellation for holidays on Feb 23. He alternates with Captain Manetas three months at a time. If the timing remains constant Captain Pagonis will be on board about the last week of May or so.. which should include June, July, and most of August... Check back in a few weeks and see if someone can confirm these dates.
PatC Posted May 3, 2009 #248 Share Posted May 3, 2009 Captain Manetas is very nice. He seemed personable enough. We had the bridge tour and he came out to explain things and talk to us. That's the first time That's the first time the Captain has joined us on the bridge. He also had dinner one night, very discreetly, at the table next to us with a couple who looked like friends of his. No big deal, he came in, sat down and no one bothered him. Truthfully, unless the Captain of a ship is not visible or doesn't do the daily report when at sea, they all have been extremely nice, available and present on most, if not all, of our Celebrity cruises. Enjoy Constellation. We sailed in this past March and had a great time. Pat C
