CABIN #: 2109

DECK #: 12

CLASS: Aqua Suite

AREA: Port Side. Convenient to Aqua Spa entrance and forward stairwell and elevators.

BED NEAR: Bathroom.

QUIET?: Yes.

BALCONY VIEW: Incredible views out and back as the balcony is angled on the forward hump.

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 1630

DECK #: 11

CLASS: A2

AREA: Starboard, towards aft, 8 cabins from the stairs/elevators

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Mostly

BALCONY VIEW: Nice views all around. Facing forward you can see people on the angled balconies.

BALCONY SIZE: Normal, 2 chairs, table, 2 foot rests

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Fairly close to aft elevators and stairs. Great room attendant Jermaine. Noise: Sometimes I heard noises at night but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. There is a crew door that's directly across from 1632. It wasn't noisy enough to bother me at night. Friends stayed in cabins 1628 and 1632 and we opened our partitions. There's a large beam that supports the upper decks, which is between 1630 and 1632. You'd have to climb over it to get to my cabin. I would stay in this cabin/area again. Date of travel: April 20, 2014 eastbound transatlantic.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 8346

DECK #: 8

CLASS: SV

AREA: AFT

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Very quiet but see comments

BALCONY VIEW: Fabulous aft view. No real obstruction, but see comments

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: No, an advantage of SVs

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Yes, see comments

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Sunset verandas block most of wind. Less sun protection, less privacy, & slight obstruction since SV overhang is less deep & from ability to look down to SVs below, but only at section near rail edge. Some soot but attendant frequently washed. Longer walk to elevators. Minor vibration pulling into port one morning. Few late nights I heard some clanging noise maybe from up the hall in crew stairwell area? We still will continue to book aft cabins as we like the great views, privacy, & quiet of being at or near the end of hall.

Ship: Reflection

Cabin: 6148

Deck:6

Class 2C

Area: next to Forward elevators

bed near: Balcony

Quiet: Very quiet

Balcony View: lifeboat top below balcony so obstruction hardly noticed unless you were close to balcony. Clear view out to sea when seated, and could also view sea directly below looking left as cabin next door had no lifeboat onstruction

Comments: I really did not notice the minor obstruction and would definitely book this cabin again as it was convenient to theatre, spa, and aqua cafe. I actually enjoyed looking down on Deck Five on occasion to see activity going on there.

SHIP: ECLIPSE

CABIN #: 1521

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua Class

AREA: Port

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Occasional thudding noise from somewhere around. See comments.

BALCONY VIEW: great, no obstructions.

BALCONY SIZE: regular

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: On EVERY day (except the sea day in the middle of the cruise) we were woken up early at about 6.30am from some thudding/rumbling/clanging noise coming from somewhere next to our cabin. Could be the neighbours, Celebrity was never able to find the cause for this. Therefor I won't book this cabin again cause I don't know if it was the neighbours (then 1521 would be fine) or not.

One time there was loud music playing until night, at 2.30am we checked and found it is a "private party" in the Sky lounge right above. Called Guest relations and they took care of it.

So if you encounter loud music it could be the sky lounge.

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 2101

DECK #: 12

CLASS: C2

AREA: Aft/midship

BED NEAR: centre of stateroom

QUIET?: Extremely

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent

BALCONY SIZE: Smaller than expected

WIND A PROBLEM?: None whatever

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Non-existent

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Too many criticisms on here. Get a life please! Minor issues become crises - just enjoy it!! Your at sea after all. Minor issue of spurious entries on Stateroom account. Sorted by Guest relations but frustrating. The stateroom is in an ideal location for everything. Very quiet, soundproofing excellent. Premium Drinks package great value. Staff are the best at sea and so friendly. Plain advice : stop posting and start cruising!

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 1065

DECK #: Deck 10 Sky Deck

CLASS: Concierge

AREA: Forward Port Side

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes Normally but Screaming kids in Next cabin forced us to move

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent with unobstructed vie from Bridge to Stern

BALCONY SIZE: Standard small

WIND A PROBLEM?: Not Normally depending on wind direction

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Cabin Bulkheads seem quite thin and closing the door of the cabin next to us reverberated throughout. We had the pleasure of an out of control child next door from 06:00 every day, so eventually moved to 1146. As space is a premium we managed to move coffee table to under desk area to allow us to use sofa and still get passed. Very quiet area close to forward lifts and good exercise to walk to dining rooms aft!

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 1146

DECK #: 10 Sky Deck

CLASS: Concierge

AREA: Starboard Aft

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Yes apart from very distant engine noise and slight vibration

BALCONY VIEW: View forward slightly obstructed by midships cabins which are closer to ships side.

BALCONY SIZE: Standard Small

WIND A PROBLEM?: No but dependant on wind direction

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Moved to 1146 from 1065 due to noisy neighbours, with beds closer to bathroom and beds set as twin we found access to wardrobe tight, we moved one bedside table to wardrobe side and problem sorted. Engine noise and vibration was evident in 1146, 1065 was much quieter. Managed to move coffee table to end of sofa to allow use of sofa and maximise floor space. both 1065 and 1146 reverberated when next door closed their cabin doors.

  • 2 weeks later...

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 8271

DECK #: 8

CLASS: 1B

AREA: Centre Hump

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent

BALCONY SIZE: Good

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS

Excellent position close to the Hideaway, handing for popping down one floor for a tea or coffee. From reading reviews thought we may have part of the balcony glass obscured by the 'X' but the Silhouette does not have one across the balconies.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1672

DECK #: 11

CLASS: AQ

AREA: aft

BED NEAR: door (sitting area is near balcony)

QUIET?: yes

Though just two decks below the open air seating and bar in the Ocean View Cafe and three decks below the Sunset Bar, we never heard guests in these areas.

BALCONY VIEW: aft, so panoramic/180* views

BALCONY SIZE: deeper than average veranda side balconies; plenty of room for two chairs, two footstools, and table; though the smallest width wise of the aft balconies, it's comfortable for two people

WIND A PROBLEM?: never! We even leaned over our banister and nothing, which in Alaska (where we cruised) was perfect

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

-there is a drain located near the banister; when balcony next door was cleaned/hosed down, I saw the little trail of water slip down the little trough to the drain; no big deal, but just a heads up

-the one plug-in located in the bathroom does not allow varied sized male parts, but there are two plug-ins that are supportive located in the vanity area (near the balcony)

Pictures of the stateroom...

***

The table in the seating area is NOT bolted to the floor, so it can be moved to your liking. Also, note the pullout/hideway mattrees under the sofa (not additional storage, though unneeded as sufficient storage is located throughout the stateroom and bathroom).

20140530_134037_zps47dcde58.jpg

***

The TV is on an arm, so it can be pulled away from the wall and angled towards the bed, if you wish. Also, the larger, lower cabinet with the lock is your mini-fridge (which is more like a cooler--not very cold).

20140530_134045_zps2a5606f4.jpg

***

Notice the long handle on the sliding glass door. Though properly noted and posted, it took us a day to realize what that was doing

In the "down" position, as pictured below, the door locks at whatever distance you have placed it. We "locked" our door in the "open" position overnight (about 12 inches) to just hear the water.

IMG_0657_zps1ab49a58.jpg

***

-Find the balcony with the red scarf tied to it...(that's not it, so keep reading)

-Go to the right three (3) balconies...1672 on deck 11

-You can also see deck 14 (Ocean View Cafe open air seating) and deck 15 (Sunset Bar)...there's no "deck 13", so it goes 11, 12, 14, 15

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 1224

DECK #: 10

CLASS: concierge c2

AREA: mid

BED NEAR:balcony

QUIET?: Yes, very quiet other than neighbors banging the door

BALCONY VIEW: backwards as on side hump

BALCONY SIZE: very big side hump

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: as this is a connecting cabin the door to the cabin from the corridor opened inwards where most open outwards and the bathroom door opened left to right when most we've had are right to left - so if someone was coming in when you opened the bathroom door, the corridor got an eyeful

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 6291

DECK #: 6

CLASS: Veranda

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes during the day, the night...not so much

BALCONY VIEW: Obstructed view

BALCONY SIZE: normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The cabin is directly above Blu and its kitchen.

Every night (any time between 11pm and 4am) there was intermittent banging and clanging below us. Think of big cookie sheets being “deposited” on metal shelving. It was enough to vibrate the floor. Would NOT stay in this cabin again.
