Ship: Equinox

Cabin: 6233

Deck: 6

Class:

Area: Hump, 2nd cabin from stern end of hump

Bed: Near closet

Quiet: Usually quiet

Balcony View: Portside, unobsructed

Balcony Size:Standard 2 loungers with table

Wind: Not a problem

Soot: None!

Very accessible to elevators, BUT noise from atrium entertainment and elevator chimes were easily heard. There are two openings from the elevator/hall area to the cabin hallways. The opening further to the bow has a sliding door, which blocks the noise. The opening near this cabin is open at all times. I wouldn't book this cabin again, but would move at least two cabins forward, to avoid the line of site noise.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 7316

DECK #: 7

CLASS: 2B

AREA:

BED NEAR: Front

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW:

BALCONY SIZE:

WIND A PROBLEM?:

SOOT A PROBLEM?:

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The cabin was nice and spacious. Lots of room. We found the ship/deck location to be convenient. For 3/4 passengers the bed is a pull-out. A tray-like bed pulls out from under the sofa. I believe a mattress topper was placed on the sofa. Perfect for two young kids. I might feel a bit confined if I were an adult sleeping on this space.

DECK #: 8

CLASS: 1A

AREA: MidShip

an issue for us. When it's windy the room tends to creak a bit.

BALCONY SIZE: Larger than most

WIND A PROBLEM?: Very windy heading down to San Juan, fine on the way back.

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 8283

DECK #: 8

CLASS: A1

AREA: midship on angled hump

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Good view aft but no view directly forward

BALCONY SIZE: The largest hump balcony - excellent :D

WIND A PROBLEM?:not at all

SOOT A PROBLEM?:no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: I was a bit concerned at this choice re comments of others on the port side hump cabins due to cigarette smoke from deck 5 below, but we did not smell any smoke at all during the cruise. If 8279 is available (same size balcony but 1st cabin on the angle) I would choose that so you have some forward view if you lean over the railing, but no hesitation to book this cabin again.

Aloha! We had another great cruise in the Caribbean pre-Christmas and learned a lot to enhance our upcoming cruises. The first thing we learned was to join Cruise Critic. Check! Silly us for not knowing about it to begin with! As we peruse the forums we learn something new each time. This time, there's a cabin critique. Nice! Using it for our next three cruises! For now though, here's our latest.

SHIP: Celebrity Equinox

CABIN #: 1539

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua (A2)

AREA: Forward, aligned with fore elevators

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Yes, with a few slight moments

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent & Unobstructed

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?:NA

SOOT A PROBLEM?:NA

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:We have no real complaints with the cabin but can offer a few warnings. The door location is very near the elevators. Though noise from it was never a problem, anyone standing back by the stairs can see into the cabin any time the door opens. Oops! The only noise noted was intermittently from above. Possibly moving something in the Acupunture rooms. Only noted on a few occasions. Summary: would prefer a room without the view from the elevator waiting area and the bed near the veranda but would have no problem staying in the cabin again..

Quiet: Very quiet

Balcony View: Aft/Wake. OUTSTANDING

Balcony Size: Good 2 loungers with footstools and table

Wind: Not a problem

If you are expecting the same as Equinox, beware! Big pole by the bed. Try 1669 instead.

Now that I'm back, here's all the data!

SHIP:Silhouette

CABIN #: 1549

DECK #: 11

CLASS: AQ

AREA:

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Obstructed by window washing basket in front, and overhang looking aft- not a big deal

BALCONY SIZE: Approximately 1 1/2 times as big as a standard. You get the standard balcony, plus a triangle that looks aft and lets you see all of the other balconies on that side of the ship

WIND A PROBLEM?:No

SOOT A PROBLEM?:No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: I did a walk through of the cabin and balcony while in Port Everglades on embarkation day. You can see that video here:

Here's a video tour I did of 1549, an aqua class cabin with an obstructed view.

CABIN #: 1507

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua 2

AREA: Forward

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: yes

BALCONY VIEW: very good, forward you could see into the bridge, but other than that, all clear

BALCONY SIZE: standard

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: 3 doors down from a 'secret' entrance to the Relaxation room. We were able to access that and the Persian Gardens very easily, and even get hot tea from the Relaxation room at any time of day or night. Would book again!

We have just returned from a 9 day cruise on the Solstice, only disembarked yesterday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1674

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua 2

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: near bathroom and cupboard.

QUIET?: Very, there is a cupboard between 1674 and 1672 so we couldn't hear a thing from the left side of the cabin and as the toilet in 1676 is on the far side, we again couldn't hear a thing from the right side. It is one of the quietest cabins we have ever been in.

BALCONY VIEW: Straight out the back and to each side.

BALCONY SIZE: wider than the other balconies across the back.

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Very sheltered, though there is no overhang or very little, so we had to choose our time to sit outside. On the way going north east, the morning was the best time and returning going south west, the afternoon was the best otherwise, it was far too hot to sit outside.

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 1091

DECK #: 10

CLASS: C-2

AREA: Midship

BED NEAR: bathroom

QUIET?: Very quiet

BALCONY VIEW: perfect

BALCONY SIZE: standard size with footstools

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

We loved this cabin due to its proximity to mid-ship elevators (near library) and being able to walk upstairs to pool and buffet. When we did need to take an elevator, there was hardly any wait.

AREA: FWD/MID

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Yes See Comments

BALCONY VIEW: Good See Comments

BALCONY SIZE: Good

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Quiet but room did have it's share of creaking over bed during slight to moderate seas. Balcony view was great but room is located directly under pool deck over hang so for people who want direct sunlight or stars/moon views this is a problem.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 9299

DECK #: 9

CLASS: C2

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Window

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Good

BALCONY SIZE: Larger than average

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:You cannot see aft from the balcony because this cabin is the last before the aft-facing suites, so there is a solid wall on the left side. There is a bit of an overhang, so it is well-shaded. There is some scaffolding (I think it is for cleaning) just below, but I never saw any equipment on it. It does not obstruct the view of the ocean because Deck 5 and lifeboats are below. Three or four times I smelled a very faint scent of smoke, but my nose is super-sensitive to smoke. Every time it was just a whiff and then gone, even in port. The roof of the balcony is a little lower compared to the next cabin forward, but it didn't bother us at all. Someone very tall may notice, though. It did not seem like a long walk to the cabin from the front of the ship, even though it is all the way aft.

NAVE: SILHOUETTE

CABINA: 8108

CUBIERTA: VISTA (8)

CAMA CERCA: VENTANA

TRANQUILA ?: Sí

BALCON VISTA: MUY BUENO

TAMAÑO BALCÓN: MUY GRANDE

VIENTO UN PROBLEMA ?:NO, HAY VIENTO PERO NO PROBLEMAS

HOLLÍN UN PROBLEMA ?: No
