  1. So much for my pre-holiday diet…DH wanted to try both the Crème Brûlée and the sticky date pudding so I was “forced” to share 🤣
  2. Happy Anniversary! Shame the weather on Hobart wasn’t kind to you. Haven’t been to MONA yet so will note that need App when we visit.
  3. Told DS that he will be getting belated Easter goodies this year. Instead of Easter goodies, he has asked me to bring over some Aussie snacks that he is missing. His list: I will be bringing over 3 of the above plus a tin of Milo (chocolate flavoured malted milk powder for cold or hot drinks).
  4. Following along. Sailing on the Grand in approx 6 weeks time. Didn’t realise they had Aussie power points.
  5. + 1 @grapau27 So sorry your former longstanding best friend did not reconcile with you before his passing. Glad you, Pauline & Sarah have each other. Condolences to you all.
  6. $99 is good value these days. Carnival Australia now charges $199pp (was $99pp precovid) and Virgin Voyages charge $200pp usd. Shame Princess are yet to re-instate these tours.
  7. Hi. Where do you accept the cruise contract on the web version? All I can do is update my personal details & cruising history… the new app is crap
  8. Well, they are aqua shoes… those swinging chairs look great @Okahukura is the retreat an extra daily charge or is it an area only available to certain cabins? Thanks
  9. You were blessed with lovely weather in Sydney (March is a great month to visit). Glad you enjoyed your day out to Manly. Newcastle is 2hrs drive north of Sydney. Forecast for Newcastle is sunny and 29C (54f). Enjoy your day at this coastal port.
  10. Thanks & yes I did but I am just so pleased that Sydney put on such good weather for the World Cruisers’ one day visit. The sail into the harbour on a beautiful morning, a ferry ride to Manly on a sunny day and wandering around Circular Quay on a warm evening is a truly magic experience.
  11. Lighthouse beacon decided not to work last night. We had the most beautiful starry night sky. Today was hot & sunny and we visited Hawks Nest, an hour south of the Lighthouse (2 1/2hrs north of Sydney) - a lovely small beach community that we used to holiday at regularly when the kids were very little. Back then Hawks Nest/Tea Gardens were known for their koala community and we would see them in the trees, after we crossed the singing bridge. There are still signs up warning “koalas cross here” but the koala community has been decimated by loss of their habitat for development. The beach though is still as beautiful as ever. We didn’t spot any dolphins today but they are usually seen in the waters here. An old sign in a parcel of bush habitat that remains.
  12. @DaniDanielle your birthday cake for your daughter looks delicious. I hope the love your poured into it lifts her spirits a little.
  13. Sorry you are temporarily restricted from driving. Hope it’s doesn’t impact your ability to look after your gorgeous grandsons and hope the tests say the fainting was just a one off.
  14. Been blessed with beautiful weather for our mini break. Up early for sunrise at the Lighthouse. Photo’s aren’t spectacular but it was nice to have it to ourselves. Walking up this steep path to reach the Lighthouse several times a day has been a good workout After sunrise, we walked 1.5km to the closest coffee source - a little caravan open at 7.30am. Early morning views. Then because it was beautiful weather, we checked out the beaches. First one had a dingo roaming, so we gave that a miss. No photo as we didn’t want to get close. We drove a fair distance to Booti Booti NP and saw this guy making the most of the bench near the outdoor beach showers Nearby was Blueys Beach (22km from the Lighthouse) we drove here because DH wanted to try a particular cafe for lunch. Then headed back towards the Lighthouse and No1 Beach is where we spent the afternoon swimming. Water temperature was lovely. Boat Beach has the most beautiful blues. Finally, tonight’s sunset from the headland near our cottage. Hoping all the World Cruisers have a lovely day in my home city, Sydney, tomorrow.
  15. DH & I are having a little getaway to Seal Rocks (approx 3 1/2hrs north of Sydney). Max is being spoilt again by our housesitters. We are staying at the lighthouse keepers cottage at Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse. The weather is beautiful, the cottage is spacious and has views from every angle and having a working lighthouse up close from your backyard is pretty cool.
