  1. Excellent advice. Kept me from typing the same thing.
  2. We were there last summer. It is straight forward to do the town on your own. Remember to take a canal boat ride.
  3. I have cruised out of Baltimore multiple times. I always park at the port. It is simple and close by.
  4. We were on the Epic in Aug and it was not as bad as described here. I do concur that it was over crowded, lines were long. We ate in Manhattan a couple of times. We generally arrived early and did not have to wait for a table. However, the reason people had to wait later might be that we never had a complete meal in less than 2.5 hours. That was too long so we switched eating locations. That said, it wasn't so bad that we would never go again (until reading a lot of recent reviews).
  5. We went with Rome In Limo. They arranged for the Pompeii guide.
  6. Same here. Park at the cruise terminal. Can't get closer or more convenient.
  7. We did this last summer and chose number 2. The guide was worth it in Pompeii to make the best use of our time. Agree that Sorrento and Positano can be done without the guide. The driver gave us general directions on which way to go.
  8. It's also likely that the people at the gate are not Air Canada staff but contractors that Air Canada hires. Once in Baltimore (on the way to a cruise) we were booked on the 10 am flight. That got cancelled but not until after the 2 pm flight left (and they wouldn't let us fly on it). Wouldn't let us on the 4 pm flight. 8 hours late we did get on the 6 pm. Luckily our connection in Toronto was also late.
  9. Garden of the Groves is a short trip. Nice greenery and some wildlife.
  10. Not sure I'd recommend the eatery next door. The view from up by the pool is nice.
  11. We always tour on our first day in Europe. Adrenaline takes over. Generally, we call it a day a little earlier than usual. When we wake up the next morning, we are on local time.
  12. We had a driver pick us up in Marseilles. Went to Arles, Avignon, Le Baux and San Remy. A fantastic day.
  13. Any thoughts about one (or more) of the Gaudi houses (I am partial to Casa Mila). I also like the Palau de la Musica. The market is nice for breakfast. If you are going at the right time of year, check out the Magic Fountain.
  14. A two day HoHo ticket might also work (we did that on our first visit). You still have to plan to make sure you make good use of your time. Here are some pictures from last summer. Med Cruise 22 (shutterfly.com)
  15. We also love Barcelona. This past summer was visit number 4. When time is tight, we like taxis. They are plentiful in Barcelona, allowed to use the bus lane, and cost effective when there are 3 - 4 of us.
  16. Two days in Barcelona should allow you to see the major sites. You just need some planning to time out what you want to see.
  17. 1898 is right off Ramblas. We have also had a positive experience at Avenida Palace.
  18. We did the Prague pre extension and when we added it up it did not seem as pricey as we first thought since it included the transportation to the ship, transfer from the airport, breakfast. Yes, it was still more expensive but the convenience worth something, I'm sure that others would disagree.
