I guess you are lucky to have a high pain threshold. My mum had her hip replaced several years ago and she was up and about pain free within days. She's in her mid 80's now and still going!

@grapau27Hope you can put off getting the surgery for as long as possible (as long as the pain is manageable.)

We did a cruise to Alaska on HAL several years ago. One of the pools is covered and we were among the few people that used it and the hot tubs. It's wonderful sitting in the hot tub watching the scenery.

Visby is a lovely little island, easy to walk about on your own. It's a tender port.
