  1. You can use it in the casino, there are no restrictions but they will charge a 3% service charge if you use it at table games, no charge at slots.
  2. Oh I don't care about the food, its the bar that I like about Pig and Anchor. The bourbon/whiskey selection is better than any other bar in the fleet. Plus the P&A beers brewed onboard are far superior to the Red Frog brews.
  3. This makes the difference for me. I don't love the Red Frog pub and would much rather have the Guy's Pig and Anchor bar over a Red Frog pub any day. Those who love the embarkation fishbowl/pitcher specials are likely to disagree with me.
  4. As a scotch drinker I have yet to find a glass of scotch over $20 on any Carnival ship. There was a high end Whistle Pig bourbon on the Horizon that was $50 but I'd never pay that for a bourbon, scotch yes, bourbon no. On Celebrity and other lines where you'll pay the difference, you can find many more high end wines and spirits.
  5. The offer mini cribs across the fleet. No pack n plays.
  6. I've been on the Horizon twice and no single bar has a great or complete scotch selection. The Carnival scotch selection isn't very large and most bars around the ship will be hit or miss if they carry a certain kind. I found that the bar near Ocean Plaza will usually have 2-3 different of the higher end scotch selections so I would usually end up there if the bourbons in P&A weren't doing it for me that night. I would suggest trying out some of the bourbons as you might be pleasantly surprised by one or two. I am a big Eagle Rare fan.
  7. I mean it is Carnival after all. I logged in this morning and I am still seeing the cyber Monday offers for wifi and the spa even though it clearly says expires at 11:59p on 11/30. They might need some more time.
  8. Yes, it will be more timely and less finicky than the Carnival app if immediate communication is what you're looking for.
  9. The website is weird, sometimes it says kids under 5 free and then tries to charge you for them, and then other times it says the same thing and won't let you select your kids. Do as the phone agent suggested. Don't select your kids, just be sure to go to the shore ex desk and check in with them to see if you need a free voucher ticket (just for headcount reasons) for your kids. I've done this 3 times over the past 2 years and have never had an issue. It seems a little sketchy but it has not failed me yet.
  10. Yes, it is $5 per person for the length of the cruise. It is not the most reliable, often time messages get delayed and arrive much later than when they were sent. Also if the app is closed you won't get notifications.
  11. I've noticed that the Thanksgiving, Christmas, NYE, President's Week, and Spring Break trips are decidedly not school break friendly. If you want to go on any of those trips it will require an extra 4-5 days out of school for kids. There will always be kids around those times but less since its not dead on with the school breaks.
  12. I haven't sailed on the Panorama but have sailed on Horizon and Vista, I would recommend stopping at the lido on the way to the gym to fill up your bottle. They only have a traditional water fountain in the gym. It is really annoying.
  13. Since the room stewards are only coming for service once a day expect it to remain a bed the entire time. In the "good old days" it was much more feasible for the couch/upper bunks to be stored in the morning and opened up each evening.
  14. As someone who grew up in Buffalo and has lived in NYC for 22 years I fully support this shade to the "NY football teams". Have a great cruise!
  15. Carnival does not have sales on their beverage packages like RCI. They add the 18% gratuity when you buy the package - making it around $70/day with gratuities included. No tip is charged when you get your drinks but you are free to leave more if you choose.
  16. I hope you've done your research (based on this report I am guessing that you have), because there is so much good food at CitiField that it can be overwhelming. Be sure to get there early and figure out which places to hit first as lines can get long. I've missed several innings for a Shack burgers once or twice. I love the little craft beer cart near 132 that has lots of regional NY State beers available and never a long line. If you're drinking, bring ID, they card EVERYONE. I've seen some people turned away who were twice my age, and I am middle aged.
  17. There is no Red Frog Pub on the Horizon. They have a bar at Guy's pig and anchor smokehouse that does not have a happy hour, but is a far superior bar overall in my opinion. For added confusion is a Red Frog rum bar on the lido deck of the Horizon, but it also does not have a happy hour. I've been on Horizon three times and have never seen a happy hour on the first day.
  18. There are only 10 on the whole ship and they are quite coveted so they do sell out fast. How many people are you trying to book into one? Some of the rooms have a max occupancy of 3, but most are max 2.
  19. I asked for the kids menu in the MDR on the Horizon in October 2021 and we were told there wasn't one, but we could order chicken nuggets and one other option. Our service on that trip in the MDR was really poor so that might not be the most accurate account. Luckily my kid was able to pick things off the regular menu most nights.
  20. Were you using F1 TV to stream? Hulu/ESPN wouldn't let me stream due to location services issues while being connected to Wifi on the MG. They were not showing any of the practices in the Landing, we were off the ship on Saturday so I can't speak to quali or the races but good to know for the future.
  21. I would look at the deck plan of the ship you're looking at, all staterooms that hold 3 or 4 people have little circles, stars, or boxes to indicate what kind of additional bedding they have. Its possible that the rooms that do hold 4 people are fully booked.
  22. Get to the excursions desk as soon as you can so you can pick your cabana. We like the ones on the far side of the pirate ship bar as it tends to get a little quieter down that way.
  23. Please keep them low for kids to spot them. So around seating, tables, elevator handles, any of the handrails around the ships, in low planters, around the entrances to the kids club. Have fun with it!
  24. I asked my PVP about it last Friday and he admitted he doesn't know but expects it to be soon since the ship will be sailing in spring 2023. He did confirm that it will be available directly through the Carnival PVPs and the website (I always like looking at the site before calling him for a booking).
  25. ALWAYS upgrade to the premium liquor. If you get a gin martini make sure its the highest quality one, not the well booze so specify a Bombay Sapphire martini, or the gin/vodka of your choice. We became the Grey Goose screwdriver people at the Red Frog every morning. Getting to know the bartenders and tipping them well leads to heavier pours in some cases, not all.
