  1. I am booked on a cruise leaving out of San Pedro and there will be 3 ships in port. I normally stay at the Doubletree, park there and Uber over to the ship. The Doubletree is sold out, so I think my only alternative is to get up early and drive. Has anyone had experience finding parking when 3 ships are in port, preferably handi-cap parking?
  2. I just got my cabin assignment, C103. The most forward balcony. I will definitely cancel if I cannot find a midship cabin once the cruise is open on the web. Oh, this is for the 7/08/23 sailing.
  3. I am looking at a cruise that will sail over Halloween. I'm assuming the ship will be decorated on Halloween, but will it just be for that day or the whole cruise?
  4. Same for me, mine was for 7/08/2023, no cabin assignment as of yet.
  5. Does anyone remember the Sitmar days when first seating was at 6:15, the service was splendid with sommeliers, true assistant waiters, leisurely service with time to chat with the servers, amazing food, table side food preparation by the head waiter and you were still able to make it to the 8:00 show? Maybe someday when the ships are fully staffed club class might resemble those days.
  6. I dined there on the Discovery and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ate in that small room with the wall plates, which offered privacy from the passerbys, and my meal was very good.
  7. I got an e-mail from my CVP this morning stating that he could save me $750 on an existing booking, but would lose $100 in OBC. Of course I said yes. Also this category is sold out. He has always returned my calls and e-mails within 24 hours or less.
  8. Loving your review, you look like you'd be a lot of fun to cruise with!
  9. I had a Nelson as Club Class Manager on the Discovery, who was wonderful! Wondering if it's the same guy, would you mind asking him if he opened the Discovery. My Nelson is from Portugal.
  10. Haha, I was on the Discovery inaugural and the towels were so new everyone was commenting about the white fuzz on their face!
  11. Before covid I had a two top on the Royal and I barely fit getting seated, and it seemed like the people next to me struggled as well. However recently on the Discovery I was in Club Class and had a private table and had no issue getting seated, as well as others. And there were some very heavy-set people seated next to me throughout the cruise. Maybe it depends on the ship?
  12. I can see pausing Chef's Table and Winemaker's, as long as covid is still with us. Unless I was traveling with my own people I wouldn't care to share a table during these times.
  13. My tip for doing laundry on board is not to do it. I pack enough of everything so that I have clean clothing every day of the cruise. I am not going to spend one minute of my cruise in the laundry room.
  14. They must have changed the cooking method on the duck. I had it on the Discovery and by far it was the best dish of the cruise. I haven't ordered it for years because of it being consistently dry.
  15. Instead of gimmicky giveaways that only benefit some, I wish that instead that they'd bring back the loyalty OBC.
  16. I've always wanted to try Cunard, maybe this will push me to finally do it.
  17. Haha, my fave! I wonder if you should report that you were not offered any special dishes at all and ask for some OBC, after all the extra dishes are promoted as a benefit of club class.
  18. It was on the Discovery one night and very tasty!
  19. Maybe because it was a 5 day? On the 7 day inaugural we had special dishes offered to us every night.
  20. Okay, thanks. I just deleted him.
