  1. According to below, this isn't completely correct. 1. Minerals for taste, as well as chlorine, is added to the desalinated water 2. Ships take on tap water at port to use as well https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=4278
  2. Hmmm..... I would think Enchanted and Emerald will be sailing SOMEWHERE after March.
  3. It's almost always on the last sea day. Try that day again? All other days will show as "sold out" even though it never was available. I know in the past they have sold out for some sailings. Try asking at guest services as soon as you board. Prior to being able to book it online, we reserved it at guest services (not the maitre d').
  4. If you bring a corked bottle, do they have a cork screw you can use in your stateroom? Or do you need to bring it? Or pay a corkage fee?
  5. That should work, but you may wind up with a hold on your debit card for awhile. From the Carnival website (it looks like cruise cash is not listed as a way of the initial funding of an account, but I assume gift cards count as cash): Guests must deposit cash (USD currency only) or Traveler's Checks (USD currency only) at Guest Services on the first day of the cruise. The following minimum cash deposits are recommended: 2 - 4 day cruise: $100 USD per person 5 - 8 day cruise: $200 USD per person 9 days or longer: $350 USD per person
  6. It's probably intentional to help sales of non refundable cruise cash.
  7. Thanks for the update. I know in the past I could.
  8. Just apply it to your account onboard, either guest services, the check in desk when you arrive, or at a kiosk. It'll always use the GC before CC.
  9. We had this same decision, and went with the family harbor suite (though, for us, the suite was about $2k less than two cabins). Advantages of suite: family harbor lounge, suite perks Advantages of 2 cabins: two full bathrooms (as opposed to the 1.5 in the suite) Suite: all in one room. Less privacy, but will be easier to check on kids at night. Suite: deck 2 cove balcony, while 2 cabins can be any deck, standard balcony We don't spend that much time in the cabin, except for sleeping. Also, it seems the Family Harbor Lounge will be a great breakfast option, and nice place for the kids to hang out. We haven't tried a cove balcony yet, but would like to. While we do have 2 showers with the suite, not having 2 toilets is a negative, but in a pinch we could run upstairs to the bathrooms by the MDR. All in all, with the $2k saving, the suite was an easy decision.
  10. Anyone know when the schedules for Emerald and Enchanted will be released for summer 2024? Isn't it late for them to come out?
  11. I remember this came up before. I think the issue may have been you can't add gratuities online once paid in full. However, you can call to pre-pay them. This was pre covid though, and what I read here- not me personally.
  12. You can use the cards to buy cruise cash, but it's not refundable if you don't use it. Convenient if you are 100% sure they'll be used (like auto-grats, if you don't prepay those), and it's less to apply once onboard. If you apply them while on board, but don't use the money, it is refundable (if over $10, I think? - if less, it goes to charity).
  13. We are going to be in 2415, which is 5 rooms down the other way. I read lots of reviews before booking because I was concerned about being under the gallery. Most did not have noise complaints, but some did. Hard to tell if the difference is the exact location of the cabin, how light/ heavy sleepers people are, or how careful the noise the crew is being. We booked it because we had never had a suite, never had a cove balcony, never cruised on a lower deck, and it was cheaper than 2 standard cabins. The suite is big enough for all of us, but a standard cabin would not be. Five rooms towards the aft, where your friends were, sought of puts them under the wall between the dining room and galley.
  14. Generally, rates with refundable deposits get price protection up until pay in full date (though it never hurts to ask). Early saver rates have a non- refundable deposit. You do need to be careful though. Price matches could result in an increase in the deposit required- and make sure you ask the agent to check this, or the booking could be auto canceled for insufficient deposit. Also, you could get a price match to a lower fare, but lose the obc from the old fare, resulting in a net increase in price.
  15. This is what I think they meant: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2705/~/early-saver-promotion
  16. Does the link become active at midnight automatically, or did you have to refresh? How did it work out? Did you go back and forth, or did you finish one and then start the next? What times did you get?
  17. I have all 3 cabins on my cruise planner. But, when I go to select an arrival time, can I do all 3 with one click, to make sure they get the same time? Or, do I have to do them one at a time, and hope the same time is still available?
  18. Call the TA and ask them to call carnival to straighten out any issues. It's best to wait on hold while the TA does this in case they need to ask or confirm something with you.
  19. Do you remember when it changed from received to in process?
  20. Is it possible to select the arrival time for 2 (or 3) rooms at once, or do you have to do it one at a time?
  21. What does your status say? We submitted it online on Nov 30, and it still says "received."
  22. How does security compare between the Erato parking and Fulton?
  23. I think the confusion is whether adding them to your total is considered "prepaying before the price increase cutoff" if you don't actually hand over the money until after the cutoff.
