  1. I was checking out the posts on the other place today and this person posted a picture of Currents with the Drink Packages in it. It definitely showed the price for the Prestige package at $69.95. So yes, it's going up.
  2. Gary, as another poster mentioned, and you might know this, since you are in a PH you get 3 bags of laundry included. You can also order any of the specialty restaurants in your room during service hours. You'll also get a bottle of sparkling wine on embarkation. I believe the Watermelon and Duck Salad is Red Ginger. On embarkation day you may or may not get extra reservations beyond your guaranteed ones that you will probably already have booked. It all depends on availability. But the first night is generally a good time to get an extra reservation, not just in Polo but in any of the Specialties. Here's one of my pet peeves. If you like scrambled eggs, which I do, you need to ask for them to be made fresh with cracked eggs. Even then in the GDR you may or may not get them that way. In the Terrace you can get them at the omelette station, otherwise it's that watery mush cruise lines try to pass off for scrambled eggs. Try the lasagna in Toscana, when it's right it's wonderful. I have to second the almond croissants, they are not available everyday, but they are delicious. When we are having breakfast in GDR we always ask what the special pastry is. They also have an egg special each day. If you have a special soda you like have your TA request they have it in your frig. For years I've had people ask me where I found the Diet Dr Pepper.
  3. Sounds about average, just ask Pinot.
  4. I also saw someone post on the site every one seems to use that the price of the drink package costs them $30 per person to upgrade on board. But I think they're confused. The reason being is they thought the basic package is $29.95. I see so much misinformation and confusion on that site that it makes my head want to explode. FWIW, the FAQ's still show the daily grats as $16 per person per day. I'm sure they'll get it caught up.
  5. How's your sense of direction? Venice is a confounding place for walking around unless you pay close attention.
  6. Don't look now but La Reserve has increased to $180 per guest for 2 lower menus and to $474 for the Dom Perignon Glad I booked last week for the La Cuisine Bourgeoise at $114 each. Wonder what's next? I'm betting drink packages. Celebrity just has a huge increase on theirs. Pardon me if this has already been posted. Didn't see it elsewhere.
  7. The GDR has started having nightly Souffles for dessert, or at least they did in Sept on Regatta. You can go there for dessert without having dinner there. Generally the second night of the cruise is the Captain's Welcome party. There are free drinks for around 3 hours in Martinis, Horizons and the Casino bar during this time. Watch for details in the Currents. You can find menus for the current day on the TV. The areas on deck 14 on the starboard and port sides just above Waves bar area/either side of the elevators, are nice places to relax out of the sun.
  8. Definitely different cards for the upper suites. Card is the room level, not Oceania Club level. Pretty sure your Club Level is not on the card.
  9. Well, from information on a new thread today it looks like this COULD be the daily grats.
  10. Oceania called it a cutting board, good enough for me.
  11. Sorry to hear of your infections. Lots of that going around. It’s hard to shake.
  12. I look at mine almost everyday and it's interesting to see the interplay between pending and posted. Sometimes they completely disappear for a few days then reappear. I've had hotels charge me the hold amount, then credit it back. There's a local casino hotel we go to occasionally that always does it that way.
  13. I have 3 words for people like that. Get........ Over........Yourself!
  14. If it was not money you expected back what do you want them to do? Obviously it's just an accounting blur between them and the credit card processor. Unless they are charging you for something you didn't spend I don't see the issue. If I understand correctly you are going to call them because the $100 credit you were not expecting has now disappeared? Or am I missing something?
  15. I'm pretty sure I could put this in the front pouch of my carryon, yes it would add weight, but no one has ever questioned the weight of my carryon, the size yes, the weight no. It would also fit in the laptop section of my backpack, which is my personal item. I could get it home if I was on a ship and wanted to get it home.
  16. Just because someone posts it on Cruise Critic or another site for cruising doesn't mean that it's true. Over the years I've seen tons of misinformation here. One thing I've noticed is that people do get things wrong. At times it like the old party game of gossip or telephone. It would be great if it did happen, but until I see some more official confirmation I'd wait to plan on it.
  17. That's why I find it good to move every 10 years or so, cut down on that kind of stuff.
  18. Sounds like FF was right about it being a hold on the card, although it might have shown credited. I recently had an issue at a hotel, where I was charged for a room that was paid with points. I had to dispute the charge. When it all shook out I was a little over $100 ahead. I'm waiting to see if they ever figure it out.
  19. Thanks for your report. Were you a first time Oceania cruiser? Did you have a balance on your seaboard account?
  20. Didn't they just leave? I just if there was an embarkation there was a disembarkation. DUH, silly me.
