  1. You must have Oceania's package confused with some other cruise line. See the post below where she explained it perfectly.
  2. Seems some don't understand the concept of "goes with the territory". An experienced cruiser is going to know that certain things are just going to occur when you stay in certain parts of the ship. Front or back you're going to hear anchor noise. Aft, you're going to feel vibrations from the propellers, and the thrusters when docking or departing. You can bet on it, if you have a problem with that then book midship, but not too low or aft on an R ship because you can bet that you'll hear engine noise, kind of like a constant drone. If you're upfront and the waves are rough you're going to get tossed about. Unless you're one of the lucky ones you'll get queasy. Such is cruising, I love it. You'd think an experienced cruiser would know these things. Oh, and what happpened to the OP?
  3. Did he mention who will be taking over on Riviera?
  4. There seems to be no end to people that want Oceania to be what they want it to be instead of seeing if what they are is a match for them. Obviously they've been doing something right for the past 20 years. Are there problems? Yes, there seem to be some with getting back to full service, but I have trouble believing the sky is falling. Our most recent Regatta cruise in September was pretty much what Oceania has always been. I'll see in March if Rivera has really changed that much or people are expecting something Oceania isn't. Thanks for your review.
  5. I'm not sure about all of them. I've seen this statement on this CC for years, but I think they might be different from line to line. But I wouldn't bet on it. I do know it keeps soda or water plenty cool to drink, I'm not sure I'd want to store mayo for a week in one though.
  6. I really don’t expect Oceania to keep a food venue open in the later evening for the dozen or so people that might be up that time of night, and how many of them would really want food at that time. They pretty much know their market, and for the most part it’s not night owls. Just be happy they have free room service, unlike what other lines are going to. This is not mass market.
  7. You would think after doing this for the last 20 years they would figure out a system that works. Reminds me of an AI we went to in Jamaica that had a catamaran cruise 2 or 3 days a week. The operators have been doing this for years, yet when they sail the boat in the cove and are parking and anchoring it you would think it was the first time they'd been there. But those folks there have an excuse, I think they wake up every day with a joint in their mouth and just go from there. Ya' Mon, no problem.
  8. We always turn it on in the morning, it's not like we sit around and watch it on port days.
  9. I always thought the TV channels going away was related to the Cell phone satellites being turned on or off.
  10. A few years ago I ordered from Wells Fargo on a regular basis. I used my credit card and didn't get charged a cash advance fee like some people said happens. There were also no shipping charges for over a certain amount, which I always got. I don't know if it's changed but a few years ago they quit shipping to states that they didn't have a branch in, which they don't in ours.
  11. I would be more concerned with Malta as a disembarkation point as opposed to what to do on the TA. What are your options for flight connections from there? What are the hotel accommodations there? I've only been there once as a cruise stop years ago, it didn't stand out as a place for embarking or disembarking. I remember I did like it, I also remember one of the merchants jacking up the prices on a water for tourists.
  12. Say, I wonder what they would charge for just a whiff of that Louis XIII?
  13. I knew a person that had a scooter that would fold up to about the size of a carry on suitcase, no problem with one made like that.
  14. There was your mistake. I checked that out 12 or 13 years ago, before I found the agent we have now, and had 2 or 3 replies. Talk about alarms and red flags going off pretty much the whole process. Poor grammar, incomplete sentences, unanswered questions among other things. I ran fast.
  15. I don't understand, I got through in less than 2 minutes, had a cruise booked in less than 10 minutes, with an email confirmation. We are Pearl and probably spent less than $200 on our May cruise. Prior to that we hadn't cruised on Celebrity since 2018. We have a BCC cruise booked for Feb on Solstice and one in Apr on Edge.
  16. Truly I don't know what's what with this anymore. We're going to have to wait and see how it all shakes out. Best bet is to see what people on board see happening.
  17. Our upgrade was $306 so that is $15.30 a day per person to go from Veranda to Concierge, but there were no veranda available, so this was my only option. If the veranda had been available we would have taken it. Still a great deal.
  18. I never sent in the request, I just called them and gave them the offer Code and when we wanted to go. There is a special BCC number to call. It's somewhere in this thread.
  19. Got an offer yesterday, it might have been floating around for a while. We are booked on the Edge for Apr 7th for 10 days in a C1 Concierge. There was an upgrade charge for the Concierge but he said that was all they had left. All in it was $637 with port fees and taxes. Booking that cruise only would have been around $6000. I'll take it.
  20. Maybe I'm missing it, but A is for it buying outright and B is for upgrading when you've taken the House Select as your Olife choice.
  21. DUH, I'm an idiot, as Platinum I get a 10% discount when buying in advance. That is $119.90. Not sure what that other odd stuff I saw was all about though.
  22. I just checked mine on my next cruise which I have as Cruise only and I've got it in the cart. The crazy thing is the price figures out to be $53.95 a day per person. I'm tempted to push go. That's a $120 saving on a 10 day cruise. My cart really makes no sense at all, either that or I've gone into an alternate universe where regular math rules don't apply. Or maybe I just don't understand how it works.
  23. Do either one of you have a drink package with Olife?
  24. Yes, initially this is what was said, then on a live from on the cruise that one of the Cruise Critic employees(Chris maybe?) did on a media junket stated that those dinners are going to be held in Privee. We'll have to wait until the ship actually sails and see.
