  1. There is no upgraded wine package. Wines by the glass are the same on both packages.
  2. You were doing good up until #4, then it kind of went sideways. Some airports they simply won't fly you out of. They also have a list of secondary airports and if yours is not on it then it becomes a special case. You may or may not get it added, and it may or may not be $99 per person, per way. Another issue is that if you selected a PE promo, then you're going to have to get yourself to the Gateway airport. They will not add on the secondary airports with these. There is only one deviation fee, and it will cover front and back. It is $175 per person or $350 for a couple. There is one instance where it does get put on for front and back, but I can't remember exactly what. I've got free deviation for so long I don't remember all the rules, and I don't always use O air. Then there's the people that use Oceania's hotel. So, the biggest reason there shouldn't be a sticky for these things is that there is no one size fits all. There are some basic guidelines, but there are always exceptions. That is why many of us advocate for using a TA with Oceania experience.
  3. I don't know, you tell them the canapes are making you too full as it's too close to dinner and they bring you double. Seems like there is a problem....................
  4. Sounds like you got an inexperienced Butler and room steward. Not following simple requests is either communication issues or passive aggressive behavior. Either way it's unfortunate you had them. Were your tours on your Final Cruise summary? I always take that with me in print and email. Sounds like you didn't sweat the small stuff and had a good time.
  5. Up to the limit for a O Life tour. Which past history shows is $199, but could be more.
  6. Do you mean Oceania Club Platinum or Amex Platinum? Not sure I know what signature promo grats are?
  7. I can't remember the details but I think they started this(all charges bundled together) years ago due to certain Florida laws. Or I could be thinking of something else.
  8. Interesting thought on the music. I have heard all types of canned music on the pool deck, but they generally have it so low you can't hear it. The most common style seems to be 70's Singer Songwriter. As another poster mentioned, occasionally they'll get on the wrong channel as I've heard Led Zeppelin, Cream, Lynyrd Skynrd, etc, among others. One thing I've never heard is country, but you never know. I see their choices more about what they perceive their customers taste is as opposed to age, although at times it goes hand in hand. Lots of people love the string quartets, not my cup of tea.
  9. So here was a crazy thing the last time I flew from LAX. This was on AA, we were flying from LAX to DFW, no international component whatsoever. We checked in at the regular domestic AA counter and dropped our bags. The lady there told us we need to go outside past the construction and go to the international terminal for our departure flight. I was like "what"? My wife understood her better than me and followed the directions. I was skeptical. So, we went outside, walked about 1/4 mile, went in TBIT, through security in a breeze (it was early) and to our gate. I had checked the board and it did show our flight at the gate on our ticket. I looked this up online as I had not had this happen before. The best explanation I found was that the plane we were taking to DFW had come in from an international location, and they don't move them to the domestic gate.
  10. What size is that bed? It looks bigger than a twin.
  11. Depending on where you’re at and what the next level is I would probably take it.
  12. I have a thermal Huggie that came with a 750 ml bottle that would fit these about perfect. I think I will pack it for my next O cruise.
  13. Yeah, don't try to tell the one Oceania cruise experts though. They've got it all figured out.
  14. Historically it's due to overbooking. May not be the case here. But the OP in the other thread said oversold, maybe they can tell us where they got that phrase, or perhaps they also were making an assumption.
  15. You've made an assumption, convinced yourself that it's right, and seem to keep arguing the point. Not sure what you're trying to prove. Are you aware of how they handled this in the past when this would come up frequently? This is probably the first time it's come up in 3 or 4 years. I don't know if it's oversold or understaffed. Doesn't matter to me either way. Historically this has occurred when the cruise was oversold. FYI, when this used to happen on a regular basis, I think some people either lost their jobs or were reassigned, so yes, at one point their procedure on this was fairly incompetent, and they gave away literally thousands in upgrades, move-overs and refunds.
  16. I guess I missed where they asked you to change.
  17. I'm sure with your vast experience of the way Oceania has dealt with this in the past you're right. Carry on. Enjoy your cruise.
  18. Did you go to the evening shows? Did you play team trivia? Did you watch for him on the morning show on the tv? If he was missing from these things odds are he was probably in quarantine.
  19. The why is pretty simple, they sold more rooms than the ship has. It's pretty common in the travel industry. Historically there are always quite a few cancels around final payment, and of course always some no shows. This used to be a fairly common occurrence with Oceania, but in the past 3 or 4 years before Covid they seemed to have better algorithms happening in the revenue dept. The best bet would be what someone said on the other thread. With all the FCC that has to be used up by years end, people are not cancelling at the normal rate that the system is set up for.
  20. Interestingly enough Regatta had the grey wallets last month. My wife takes one of the old brown ones as the pocket is a nylon mesh and the cards or whatever you put in will slide in and out easier. Unfortunately we only have two of those, and a box full of the grey ones.
  21. The new pens, when you find one, is much better quality than the old ones. Heavier and better constructed. There wasn't one in our room, but we got one from someone while onboard Regatta last month.
