  1. I 've never thought any balcony was too large or cavernous. I'm assuming you mean tunnel like. Some people complain of this, but having been in the extended balcony rooms on Marina it didn't really seem to be an issue.
  2. The "Advantage" perk is a new one on me, and we've been cruising with O around 13 years. I've definitely had the Ultimate a couple of times, the OCAPP gratuities quite a bit, some consortium perks like wine, chocolates, excursions, cocktail parties, and other odds and ends, but never run across the Advantage before. There's lots of things out there that apparently are not common.
  3. Actually there are 4. Look at the deck plans for deck 7. It's very apparent. Last ones on the front where it shows the wide deck and first ones at the rear where the deck gets wide.
  4. I don't think it's saying you get 4 more, it's just repeating the 4 you already would get. Or not. Have you asked your TA about this? I did find this, but it's a few years old. O Life Advantage "Things to Know".indd (oceaniacruises.com)
  5. This is where I get confused. I thought UK was a non tipping culture. Or does this only apply to restaurants?
  6. Yes, we will be docked at the Royal Dockyard. It's too big for either Hamilton or St George, although I've been to both on the smaller R ship.
  7. Thanks, but will the supplementary ferry NJhorseman mentioned be running at that time? On the Oceania Riviera.
  8. Does anyone know when regular service resumes? We're there March 15-17.
  9. What in the world would make you think FF has inside information? He's just a regular cruiser just like the rest of us. Jan on the other hand...............
  10. A lot of it comes down to how important more balcony space is to you vs the perks with Concierge. Some of the perks are worthwhile, some I could care less about.
  11. I mentioned on another thread, I think they are changing this in the update which is happening to Riviera at this time. Marina is up in the air apparently as to when they will do it. I don't know where I saw this so don't have a link. It could be a layout I saw for the new Vista ship in those categories. I'll see if I can find it.
  12. They have the same style in that spot on Regatta. I believe that's outside Martinis right before the casino.
  13. People dancing is the last thing I want to see while dining. On the other hand I wouldn't mind some soft string quartet music.
  14. Not necessarily a positive change IMO. Nothing against the cartoon restaurant, but in my experience certainly not better than Silk Harvest.
  15. Are you staying at the same hotel that Oceania is using?
  16. I think they are changing the TV in the OC in the updates. I believe it will now be in the living room area.
  17. I can give you an exact amount as I keep an email folder of old invoices going back to 2014 or so. Ours was in July of 2018 and it was $336 per person. What was fun on that cruise, besides Lyn and our TA being on it, was that our trivia team was made up completely of 4 couples that were all on their 20th cruise. We met by random on the first day of trivia, figure the odds on that. Our team name was The Freebies.
  18. Yep, it all depends on who is in that connecting room.
  19. I have an inside booked on Riviera after the redo.
  20. As a long time Oceania cruiser I find your observations pretty much spot on, except for the sentence I quoted. Truly very, very average beer selection with hardly any craft beers and the wines by the glass are just ok. I'm sure a real oenophile would have even more to say about the choices. Thanks for your review.
  21. On an ironic note, there used to be a card room on the M class ships by Cafe Al Bacio, but they took them out for more seating.
  22. Need more info. Are you cruising in suites on Celebrity, Norwegian and Princess? Otherwise, the only one that would come close or maybe better would be Silversea, depending on what you like. Lot of dressing up on Silversea. I would recommend reading through past threads here. Most of your questions have been discussed time and time again.
  23. I said that wrong, it should be the Terrace on the starboard side.
  24. What was it about the Silversea cruise that had you suffering so much? I can't imagine there being much noise in the evening or middle of the night. Are you day sleepers? As has been reported here various times, you want to avoid the rooms under Waves Grill and the first section of the Terrace on the port side.
  25. Yes, you can be booked for one excursion in a port, and be waitlisted for another at the same time. I recently did this. It was a moot point as the port was cancelled. So, I don't know what would have happened if we cleared the wait list, but I would think you would go on the waitlisted one and the other is cancelled.
