  1. Have to agree on S class comment. Nothing like a real balcony. E class are beautiful ships, but it was a one and done for me.
  2. Last October we were able to score a 53% off sale on the upgrade to premium. That is the best we've ever found
  3. Actually, you can now order premium water by the case..Aqua Panna or San Pelligrino., case of 12. It's available on my upcoming sailing on the Eclipse. It is however not much of a deal
  4. Poor you! You don't like the policy Take a different trip There are many times places get crowded on the ship. I think too many, myself included, had gotten used to sailing with fewer passengers on board. Now ships sail at capacity.Pools get crowded. Sometimes we have to alter expectations. If you know ahead of time that family time is 5-7,( as you obviously do) then stay away during those hours if families annoy you...
  5. See post #13 best solution cheers No need of tape, markers, staplers, or help from others And they are sturdy , reusable , and inexpensive
  6. Most of the offers are offered online, bluechipcluboffers.com, most of my offers have been the usual, veranda /concierge with plenty of choices including transatlantic. My issue is the online offers are targeting cruises only up until June, and have a few on the books already for this year My direct mailings have been non existent as of late. The casino host on the Ascent told me they were transitioning to online offers, for better or worse. Cheers
  7. Yes you can, but i've meet families on board the Solstice in Alaska, who had the porters tag their luggage and the luggage never showed up...none. We are talking a family of 5! Seems their luggage was loaded onto a different ship! The reusable ones with the stainless cable are the best option IMO Cheers
  8. Actually living in Ma we have never sailed out of Boston, mostly due to Itineraries. I will say I have zero interest in NY/NJ( visiting or sailing from) Been through a few bad experiences .I do have a repo sailing this October out of Boston....looking forward to only one plane ride home! Cheers
  9. Well, as long as you're not snoring, or being excessively load on your cell phone...there will be no issues from my granddaughter. She doesn't like splashing either!
  10. Then go during non family hours. Honestly, the place is empty during those 2 -3 hours, when most of you will be fighting for your share of the HH cocktails! I realize the sacrifice is huge, but honestly, I'd rather watch my granddaughter have a little fun, than listen to chorus of old folks snoring or chatting on cell phones rather loudly.
  11. Agree This was on the Ascent also I watched a husband and wife(i believe) , both on scooters waiting for an elevator, and the wife floored it every time she heard the ding of the elevator, and crashed into 2 different doorways, just missing us. The elevators were going down, not up as she wanted. The husband just shook his head and sat there and watched. She damaged the scooter and almost me! Must've been late for Happy Hour Cheers
  12. Same on the Ascent, in Tuscan, we had early (5:30) and after the first night we were waived around the line and allowed to go to our assigned table( If you had made the reservation). People were lining up @ 5:00 and the line would be long . To us it was worth it not to have to wait and wasn't an issue if we decided not to go cheers
  13. We found out after the first night, (this was @ Tuscan, 5:30 apt) that if you were to eat early the next night, When they open up for seating, they wave you around the line, and you just go to your assigned table. We found this extremely convenient . Although some waiting in line didn't approve. We had a great team in Tuscan and ate there most nights. Cheers
  14. My wife was tired and not feeling great and at that point we were done. I always order my steaks medium rare to rare. I had made mention to it on the way out and had zero response. They did call me the next few days trying to get me to come back for a free dinner, but I politely refused.
  15. Recently on the Ascent....worst steak on a cruise ship, the dry aged ribeye @ Fine Cut. Definitely not worth the $60 upcharge!!, although service was very good, just poor quality meat, and overcooked. We had a nice dinner @ Rooftop, again with a perfectly cooked ribeye, all around nice meal. I personally enjoyed Raw on 5 .
  16. Couldn't agree More! It also gives the parents a break, keeping the kids occupied in a fun activity. The parents paid good money for their trip, just like all the old folks here. And yes I'm one of the old folks
  17. You were referring to the old CC HH in the SL you had to order your drinks from that venue Older demographic on Celebrity Especially on Transatlantic Not sure what you couldn't follow if they bring it back...great! Not something we would bother with cheers
  18. You were luckier than I. My experiences were a lot different. Choices for wine were: red or white(total garbage IMO) regardless on bev package. It reminded me of a Carnival cruise with older drunks. My wife refused to go after a few cruises. I used to give my drink coupons away as I had no use for them. I say as long as you enjoy it, so be it. Was just giving our experiences, and the worst was on Transatlantics!
  19. You paid for the room, do whatever makes you happy. The only time on S class that it truly makes a difference , is opening your cabin door with the slider open.
  20. I have to say I do not miss it. Our last one was a horror show, too many people trying to talk over each other, fighting to get their share of the crummy drinks offered(wine) . Had a woman bump into me, double fisted, spilling her drinks on me, and of course it was my fault. The new system is better, but I always get the premium package, so it's of little use to me Just my opinoin cheers
  21. Tuscan was definitely our fav. Awesome staff all around. Cosmo on the Ascent was dismal at best. Service was awful at breakfast, have to say the worst we've ever had.
  22. we had the same experience on the Ascent. we were able to make early reservations in Tuscan, for 5:30, and every night we were waived around the line . There were no signs, and some people were upset that people could go around the line when they opened up for seating. We had an assigned table .No buzzers for us, LOL Cheers
  23. We also were disappointed in Fine Cut, had an awful dry aged ribeye(an additional $60) definitely not worth it. Rooftop was very good, Raw on 5 was excellent...enjoyed the raw oysters! Those were our only experiences with specialties on the Ascent recently
