  1. To be fair, asking for butler service if the new cabin would be significantly outside of suite geography on the ship would be a very big ask. The other Retreat services would certainly have been a very reasonable request.
  2. Nothing whatsoever wrong with commenting on the acoustics of the design of public spaces. E class ships in particular seem to have issues of this sort with what would/should be a quiet venue (e.g. dining) becoming subject to the noise of a loud adjacent area, even between decks when there are open areas between.
  3. Our last cruise turned into an exercise of figuring out when to cry "Uncle!" We would return from afternoon 'tea time' in the Retreat Lounge or after dinner only to find yet another little Plexiglas (tm) box of delectables waiting for us! We finally made an arrangement where we'd leave a note on the dining table if we weren't going to be in need of these. Hated to waste them, and we kept hitting the wall of food, no matter how good these were ... and they were good!
  4. Now. While you were typing. But not the 'Revolution', whose schedule is undetermined. We'll let you know if anything more than mechanical and exterior paint was done when we board on the 31st. Stay tuned.
  5. Yes, the same butler typically works up port or starboard, from the PH, that SS, then RS... etc. I can't recall how far forward they stop.
  6. Given what some have reported about the supply of good wine aboard, that *is* a disaster! 🤪
  7. My 'mileage' definitely varied. Just booked a Silversea cruise (Dawn) after comparing to similar itinerary on Celebrity. Closest thing to an X Royal Suite is the Silver Suite. Even with the included excursions, Silversea definitely cost me a good bit more per night. Silver Suite on this new SS ship is slightly bigger, but not as nicely appointed, doesn't include specialty dining, etc.
  8. They're rare here in Colorado. Did you or a crew member help to fit the mask? Did they supply one due to a request you made? Crew all still wearing masks on SS, but no pax requirement that I'd heard for a recent cruise.
  9. Another possibility? Late booking of some big name talent or guest speaker that was requesting or was felt to warrant a suite.
  10. Have seen this posted here in CC a few times, but where has RCG mentioned this as an issue? Link to it in conference call, 10-Q, press release?
  11. I now know that if an excursion is accidentally overlooked while planning, and shows "Sold Out" online, a shoreside concierge may be able to make it happen anyway! I goofed for Punta Delgada. Booked!
  12. I swear, there's an adapter/dongle/whatever to cover every contingency. Assuming you don't get into an antique aircraft with the dual plug/jack, and it's just a regular 1/8" stereo jack, gadgets like this are widely available. Don't know if this one is particularly good, but is representative of the concept and gets a lot of good reviews: https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-Portable-Rechargeable/dp/B083J98ZFX
  13. One thing to remember about the Galaxy Buds and similar products is that battery life isn't likely to be sufficient for many international flights. Neither of the Galaxy Buds (Buds and Buds2) are good for much more than 5 hours when used in noise cancellation mode. You'll need a plan for charging them mid-flight if you go that route.
  14. These days, xN95 masks might represent 1% of what you see the few people still wearing masks using, and I'd bet less than 10% of those people understand how to "properly fit" one. If breathing isn't quite noticeably more difficult when the wearer is exerting significant effort, the mask is probably improperly fitted. The vast majority of xN95 rated masks, when properly fitted, will by their very nature provide a significant restriction to air flow.
  15. Celebrity phone app, though might be more accurate closer to sail date.
  16. Won't get into brands, but yes, for many years, especially on long international flights. Even the old ones provide a great deal of relief. I always bring mine along, even if provided in a higher class seat.
  17. Occupies an area about 20' long, just aft of the door aft of the central elevator.
  18. Strange. Never an issue here. I linked our two cabin reservations online early on. I can book any spa event for any of the four of us in the two cabins. Both accounts/cabins show up when I view our reservation. If I were to do so from my cabin account, it would be charged to my OBC or credit card regardless of which of the four of us I selected from the list, and all four are on each list. Whose account gets charged is simply a matter of which reservation you select at the start when you select "Plan my cruise".
  19. Ah.. Once you have added one photo, just use the 'Enter' key to create a little space before you slide the next one into place at the cursor, or you can even set the cursor at the end of the first photo (far right side of the 1st photo) and hit 'Enter' there when both pictures are already in place to add a 'line feed' or two between them. A FEW CARRIAGE RETURNS HIT, AND NEXT PHOTO ADDED
  20. Other than the logistics involved at a particular port, I wonder if ship class (and hence, lower deck configuration) has any bearing on which side is used more often? We tend to sail M class ships due to specifics regarding cabin accommodations, and that may be why we see starboard so often. As I say, on our last two cruises, we used the same gangway every time. I think the embarkation/disembarkation being on the starboard side so often has to do with a definite preference for the pre-cruise provisioning of these ships from the starboard side based upon lower deck configuration.
  21. I'd say starboard side about 80% of the time. Last two cruises we took, it was 100%.
  22. Long ways from the original $5757, isn't it?! If we'd had any interest at all in that itinerary, we'd have been all OVER that price back on Monday!
  23. Haven't seen that happening yet. Was there some posting I missed? All I've seen is that specialty restaurants have been good enough not to fill the tables if they are understaffed - at least on two ships where we've heard that recently reported. If anything, the two current Beyond threads seems to indicate that they'll fill a ship regardless of staffing levels. Granted, it seems to be an extreme example of this, but ...
  24. Got a better name for it than Icon... Six Flags Over Mariana Trench!
