We flew Iberia a year ago out of Venice. Masks were required and we had the Spanish Chief of Face Covering Police on board with us. Bless her heart. Not even a couple glasses of wine and lying flat would put me to sleep on a plane for the entire journey. Lucky you. Enjoy your time in Roma. The VRBO looks divine.

FYI I completed the status match form and obtained my status match and MSC account number prior to booking, so I could provide my TA with all of that information. She was then able to apply the appropriate discounts. Not sure if said discounts are also available in the UK. By the way if you have an equivalent status on Azamara, MSC might do a better status match with that. They did for us. We are only Elite on Celebrity, but whatever this translates to on Azamara (I forget the name -- Discoverer or Discoverer Plus?) was matched to Diamond on MSC. We cruised Azamara once just prior to their separation of loyalty with Celebrity. I realize you already made your booking by now, but I am just reading this and maybe this will help others.

Are there onion rings available in the Yacht Club? I think these would be a nice addition to this diet. I am being good pre-cruise so I can indulge in all things naughty when I get on board. By the way our baby looks just like your kitty. So handsome.

I say go for it! In a couple of months we will be giving MSC Yacht Club a try for the first time on board Seascape back to back/side by side with The Retreat on board Celebrity Summit. I may try a live thread on the Celebrity board. Most of our cruising history is with Celebrity ranging from regular verandah to Sky Suite. Booked the Summit portion of the trip first about a year and half out. Friends convinced us when they shared the deal they got on a Sky Suite. I love the Revolutionized Summit. Added the Seascape segment about nine months out after reading about Yacht Club on a couple of live threads. Then, we realized the back to back opportunity. We never would and are not overpaying for The Retreat, but the 5 nights in a Sky Suite on Summit was slightly more money than the 7 nights in a Yacht Club Interior on Seascape with what I foresee as being far better amenities included in MSC Yacht Club. This is DH’s first test cruise without a verandah, but I think he will survive. We find we make little use of it anyway. I wish you loads of enjoyment on Ascent. The Edge-class ships look stunning. We won’t try one of these (Beyond) until 2024 in a Sunset Verandah. I dragged my feet on booking Edge-class since I refuse to book an Infinite Verandah. Cheers!

Bravo! What a lovely live report unfolding here. I am feeling rested and relaxed from reading along. Fortunately not much longer before I am back on board.

MSC first timer here sailing this December on Seascape in The Yacht Club followed by Summit in The Retreat side-by-side. Echoing the previous comments regarding Retreat pricing, this will likely be our final experience in The Retreat. We enjoyed our Luminae experiences in the past. Sounds like YC will blow it out of the water. Have we set ourselves up for Retreat disappointment? Based on all the positive YC comments on this board I think the possibility is real. Time will tell. Fortunate to be sailing with friends on the Summit segment, so that should cushion the blow. The four of us sail martini glasses half full. Hubby will be looking for garlic-stuffed olives on MSC. Any intell out there? Personally I look forward to trying the MSC Signature Martini. Also will ask for the above noted mozzarella sticks. Don’t hate. Sweet potato fries could be a nice treat as well. Preparing my preference sheet.😀😉

Never heard of it. Why I asked is because someone on another social media outlet posted that they had Bulgari, but they did not indicate which ship. I would die and go to heaven if there was Bulgari Shampoo and Shower Gel available. Maybe I will just bring my own. Nevertheless excited for my first MSC cruise in the Yacht Club.

We like to DIY in port. Is it safe to walk around Puerto Plata say from the ship to umbrella street?

Tiny, but totally tolerable. How much time does one spend in the shower? However, what if a more roomy option is desired? I forget, are there larger showers available for use in the gym or men’s changing area?

Glad all is seeming to come together better. Seeing new marketing images and angles on their website and in their marketing emails is refreshing. Baby steps.
