  1. Which ship, cruise or transatlantic. It will make a difference.
  2. If you need alcohol and don’t want to pay for it frequent Al Bacio during embarkation times and partake of the included “champagne”.
  3. Will you still take this cruise if the restaurant is not open for Breakfast and Lunch on port days? Do the management at Seabourn usually follow your requests?
  4. I am sure those who are coughing will claim it’s allergies or COPD so you shouldn’t be worried!
  5. Where are the major cities in the U.S. where you can get a luxury hotel room for $300? You won’t get a room at the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental for that price.
  6. We were able to add two additional suitcases while onboard the QM2.
  7. We used the White Star Service on the Cunard site nd it connected us to Luggage Forwarding. This service worked great in Dec 23.
  8. On the QM2, there is a shade that can be pulled down if you would like and have a window table. I have also seen privacy dividers put next to a table by the window. There must have been a celebrity who didn’t want other passengers staring.
  9. We also found many blazers in the evening on the Venture. The temperature inside was quite cool making those jackets comfortable. Needless to say we saw no shorts or tank tops inside except in the gym. It might be different on an Amazon cruise or trans Atlantic or Pacific.
  10. Guess you are speaking about the current dress standards of the passengers.
  11. We always use air tags in our luggage, also had some toiletries in the bags. LF performed well for us and would not hesitate to use them again.
  12. We always send our request for shareholder credit once we have fully paid for the cruise. Seabourn has always been quick in their response to our email.
  13. We used Luggage Forward in Brooklyn this past December. You do need to pick out your bags at the pier and take them through Customs. We used a porter and it was very easy. We told him where we were headed, Luggage Forward, and he took our bags through Customs and over to the Luggage Forward folks.
  14. The title of this thread should be revised. The complaint has nothing to do the the Celebrity ship Beyond.
  15. No, but you might find King Crab ashore for $80 or more. There are severe restrictions on fishing for Red King Crab. There is a small allotment for Golden King Crab. The supply is insufficient to supply cruise ships.
  16. You need to dress for the weather when tendering by Zodiac, you will also need to wear your life jackets.
  17. Great reminder for the rest of us. Check your passport every year so you can renew ahead of time.
  18. Changes in the itinerary are just the nature of Expedition cruises especially in Greenland. Did you make independent arrangements for tours?? We missed at least one port on our 14 day trip last September. Sea and ice conditions were the reason for our change last year.
  19. Celebrity was wrong to oversell the cruises, no doubt about that. However, the cruises were far enough in the future that final payments were not made, only deposits. At least now folks reading this thread will learn to never book non refundable or non changeable airline fares. We are not Zenith, but we have still sailed enough to have many cancellations not even including COVID. If you are planning your once in a lifetime trip to a certain destination, don’t book a cruise.
  20. Am surprised they don’t have porters in Portland!? We have easily found them at ports in the U.S., NYC, Brooklyn, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Honolulu. Are you scaring them away?
  21. We are on the Odyssey South Pacific, Papeete to Honolulu. All ports, except Papeete and Honolulu are tender ports. We have seen passengers with sticks and canes go ashore with little difficulty. Two passengers have scooters and I have not seen them get onto a tender. One can walk around the buffet unaided. The tenders require you to walk down a flight of stairs and then be helped onto the ships tender. I am fairly able bodied, right now, and find maneuvering around the tender difficult but doable. Hope this first hand experience helps.
  22. Seabourn will include breakfast out your hotel. If your flight is to Greenland you will have an early start. The charter plane takes you to Greenland and picks up the passenger who debarked. Those passengers are loaded onto your plane and flown back to Iceland.
  23. Our weather has been humid, but not hot. 82 or 83 degrees F. Is as hot as it’s been although it felt warmer in the sun. Five sea days is about normal for us as we love transatlantic and transpacific cruises. The current one had an unusual number of ports but they were all great. The one very hot cruise we had was from Greece, it was over 90F every day.
  24. QM2 is ready to sail again on 5/2. She is sailing on a special Coronation cruise to Liverpool with fantastic prices all the way up to Queens Grill suites. Only went on sale today but it may be sold out.
  25. It was certainly available in December 22 for U.S. travelers.
