  1. At the end of each cruise, Customs requires all passengers pass through immigration , and then they all allowed to board again. No luggage or checkin is involved with the process.
  2. Don't you just love it when you don't have to read this, at least this week. But then, it will be your turn next week. WE will be leaving on a B3B on Allure in 2 weeks.
  3. @Radio Odyssey has a similar vending area just before the diamond lounge on the Esplanade.
  4. We didn't used too, and often on the next cruise I would get dinged for not having a credit card on file. Now I do all B2B and that problem goes away.
  5. I took mine to the dealer to replace mine. When I saw how he did it, I just picked up a package of batteries (2032) to do myself.
  6. The truck we used on the dairy farm was an F250. When you said split rims I figured it wasn't a half ton. Our farm truck had a full floater rear axle, that I don't believe the half ton trucks had, and dealer installed helper springs. That first gear came in real handy if you had a load on and on rough ground. LMC has some shows , I think on Motor Trend TV. I don't think I ever watched it. Curious how long the restoration took.
  7. @A&L_Ont At first glance I thought the videos were for Pebble beach and said huh, that's not in Canada, then I realized it was Cobble Beach. Nice coincidence. I don't think I have ever recalled seeing a Mercury version of Ford trucks. I imagine that is where the tailgate in the second picture came from. Or where the Canadian trucks marketed with the Mercury name.
  8. I suspect Royal associates Orlando and Port Canaveral , so folks not familiar with the area know what airport to book flights to.
  9. The routes from North America to Europe follow the great circle route, which is the shortest route on a globe. For example, go to web site Flightradar24 , spool out till you see the Atlantic ocean from America to Europe , and will see the tracks of the flights. It is best viewed in the evening, the majority of east bound flights are over night flights so they will be landing in the morning of the next day.
  10. The problem is that the guy you tip at drop off is not allowed to be on the ship, and has absolutely nothing to do with the delivery on the ship, regardless of what he tells you. The last cruise, the tag came off, but not before it got sorted got go the the correct floor and and side and correct section, so I just walked down the hall and found it. Rarely happens though.
  11. I'll bet nothing like South of the Border on I95.
  12. This is for Dani, my young life in Pennsylvania. To keep in perspective, I was born in 1943. My dad and his brother operated a small dairy farm in the foothills of the mountain range that runs across western part of the state. They sold milk and eggs in the town. To expand , they bought an additional 70 acre farm about 4 miles away. It was located on top of a hill, and it was called Hilltop. the farm was landlocked, meaning it had no public roads on its border, so access was a right of way through an easement through neighboring property. The farm kouse was built after the civil war. It was built on a spring, so there was water. Most farm houses were usually with a spring located nearby for their water. The house had no electricity, there was a coal cookstove in the kitchen, and a coal stove on the second floor for heat. I think we used some sort of gas powered lamps for lights. And the house had never been painted, so the sides were just weather beaten wood. And , to do your business, there was a good old fashioned outhouse close bye. US congress had a bill called the Rural Electrification Act, which helped to get electric to the house. Dad's uncle was a plumber, he installed a pump in cistern that stored the water from the spring, and built an indoor bathroom directly above, along with an electric water heater. Also. an oil fired furnace and baseboard heat. Because of the remote location, a 1000 gallon oil tank was buried in the yard, so it could be filled in the summer, and if it did run low in winter, usually one more deliver took car of it when the weather permitted. The house had all termite damage repaired, it was insulated and siding was installed and painted, and all of the windows and doors replaced. And of course, had to have a septic tank and leach field installed. The dairy farm itself had a spring and cistern in a field high enough to provide pressure for the farm, al though it eventually proved not enough for the dairy operation,. so I think that he eventually had to drill 2 wells. And at Hilltop, the spring became unreliable, and a well is drilled there also.
  13. I'm curious, were all of the dining rooms open on Oasis. I have cruised 8 times on Allure this year, and initially deck 4 was not open, and it was terrible, but the last cruise, it was open, and it was like it used to be. I had no issue at all.
  14. US and Canada are large countries, and we have a lot of people living in more rural areas where public utilities do not supply water and sewer service. AS a result, people usually drill wells for water , and install septic systems to take away the waste. The design of these systems is set by the public health department to insure that bad stuff from the output doesn't make its way into the water supply.
  15. That has not been our experience this year at PE , 8 cruises. This is not the normal experience.
  16. I cannot help but wonder if the wifi network onboard the ships can handle the increased demand.
  17. That is what they said when Oasis started using O3B. Did not happen to all ships.
