  1. When we got on 3 weeks ago, we also had the milestone note, but they didn't say they were out, instead it woud be delivered to our room, or we could have it mailed home, or we could decline. Or what I did, nothing, so someone else could have it. So, I did not get the last one . Now, the next one I plan on getting. At 700 days.
  2. Best way to get local currency is at the ATM. Much better exchange rate that the money changers. Any money left over went back to our bank to turn back to US dollars.
  3. We're are back from our 2 weeks on Allure. Our first cruise on July, and the vibe was certainly different. Huge family groups groups, several generations of family. Not a problem, just different. I don't know that we have ever been on this class with this many people. If you like crowds, the pol deck has it. But Central Park is nice and quiet at the same time. The only reason we took the cruise , it was a casino comp, the price was right. Lunch in WJ was a disappointment compared to the Feb and March cruises. Really no different offerings each day. I guess the food people figure these passengers are happy with burgers and hot dogs, so there is not much else. MTD was a lot different this time . Bak in March it was insane with the lines getting in. THis time, not at all. They have the dining room on level 4 open now, I bet the crowd in March would have been there, but that wasn't an option. DW developed some walking issues, so we stopped at the concierge to request wheel chair assistance for todays departure, so we were told to go to ON AIr and we would be taken care off. Could not have been more satisfied with the service provided.
  4. This is the park in my hometown, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idlewild_and_Soak_Zone In our public schools , we had a school holiday at the park.
  5. If i don't checkin for both, I tend to have credit card issues carrying over for both of us.
  6. Well, some of us went crazy when gas went over $1.00, gas pumps weren't designed for that. The most they could handle was 99.9 cents
  7. For all of those in Texas complaining about 100 deg heat, my step son lives in San Antonio , and he is seeing the same heat. Here is south Florida, we have been seeing 90 deg heat. However we are both seeing similar "feels like" often just a couple of degrees apart, since he has 30% humidity while we have 75%. Thankfully. my AC only has to deal with actual temperature.
  8. B2B allure, western Carib then southern. All the normal ports, Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, then Coco Cay, Aruba , Curacao.
  9. We will be cruising. DW just got her negative test with EMED. Much easier than I was learning earlier today.
  10. I had a similar problem once when I got up late at night to go. Ended up with 4 broken ribs and a punctured lung.
  11. What a PIA. Just completed my pre cruise test on Emed for our Allure cruse this Sunday. Only took about 5 tries to get through. At least it is negative. DW has to do hers now. Second time doing it should be much easier.
  12. We have never considered it, but our neighbor just did it earlier this week. Haven't had a chance to ask about it. It was in Freeport for a few weeks before it restarted. Have no idea what they did to it besides the paint job.
  13. 7Interesting item in todays news https://www.wptv.com/lifestyle/travel/no-sail-order-issued-for-margaritaville-cruise-ship-docked-at-port-of-palm-beach
  14. Funny thing is, when we dropped the luggage of at FLL. the porter said that he didn't know if he could check our luggage all the way to Alaska. But he did. There were 3 legs, each on a different airline, but apparently, they knew we were going on a cruise, and got special handling. I was surprised that our luggage also made it. Thing were different in those days.
  15. Like many, my most memorable was our first. The Crown Monarch, out of port of Palm Beach. I think the year may have been 1991, but I'm not sure. The bug bit on that cruise, 7 days western Caribbean. The second also quite memorable. The night before, we drove to Fort Lauderdale. Next morning we flew from FLL to Anchorage, where we boarded a bus to Seward, of a 7 day southbound to Vancouver, on Princess. the year was 1999. Never again will we fly to the cruise on embarkment day. Early on, we learned something each time we cruised.
  16. We go over to the other Fl coast to watch the gran kids while DD and SIL go away. He "cut the cable" a while back, and DW cannot find the channels she likes. That would never fly in our house. She likes our cable, turn the TV on, click the guide, sees all of the channels to see what is on. Happy wife, happy life. we do have access to a lot of streaming services through our cable box, a lot free, like Amazon prime , Peacock, and I do subscribe to YouTube, and our son has a Netflix channel we can watch, but rarely do. She pays no attention to those. I have things I watch , which I record since a lot are after bed time, and watch them when I want.
  17. I am sitting here on my computer, DW in the other room watching TV, she changes channel, and every other sound is a beep. guess she is watching BD reruns. More beeps per second than any other program. I wonder if anyone completes a sentence with out at least one beep.
