  1. Not to go off point, but I liked the entry level cabins on SS Nova even more than EJ. They are the same size, but Nova has a larger, better laid out bathroom (no heated floor though, and I'm talking about the shower only cabins). I also didn't like, and found unusual compared to other ships I've been on, that EJ didn't have a "desk". That said, I still prefer EJ.
  2. It seems the entry level rooms on Vista are a lot smaller than on EJ (240 v 301 sqft). Vista says the balcony rooms are 291 sqft, but that includes the balcony, and they make no effort to point that out. Where EJ clearly says 301 sqft plus a 70 sqft balcony for 371 sqft. So 291 v 371 with balcony, or 240 v 301 room only, makes EJ cabins and balconies more that 25% bigger than Vista. I've been on EJ, but my sizes for Vista are just what I see on their website, so can't confirm.
  3. I was in 8091 in November, the squeaking and creaking was so bad when a sea that I had to change cabins.
  4. Well that's good news, but I don't understand what being on cc has to do with who makes advanced dining reservations. Please elaborate. Thanks
  5. You not making reservations ahead of time is great for us that do, wish there were more like you.
  6. Thanks, that's perfect for me, planning on arriving around 1:00
  7. So I assume that's San Juan Cruise Terminal. Thanks....I have to drop my rental at sju, and then I'll Uber there 🙂 I just noticed I booked this cruise 1/9/23, so over a year in the making.
  8. Please post which San Juan terminal you dock at on 1/25. Thanks
  9. I've been on Nova and going on EJ next week. I was wondering how the cabins compare to Seabourn, Regent and Oceania mentioned in #61.
  10. Would you be able to rank them on entry level (balcony) cabins? I know EJ and SS are ~300sqft interior + 70sqft balcony. Thanks
  11. The $200 pp penalty can be applied as FCC to your next cruise. I had it done twice.
  12. I booked a cruise last January before the price increase, and then was able to apply the 2 cat upgrade and get 500 euro OBC. Then during the black friday sale, I booked 3 more cruises online at 40% off, without any problems. I have an EJ agent that promptly takes care of my requests, (although other EJ agents, well, no so much). I'm really happy with EJ.
  13. The escalation and pull with EJ is just the story your TA relayed to you, right?
  14. Thanks for the review. I have my first EJ cruise coming up in 3 weeks (and 3 more EJ after that, the sale was just to good). What restaurants should I make reservations for ahead of time?
  15. The new schedule was available last week, just a little tricky to access on EJ's site. I booked a 2026 cruise (on sale and on their site) last Tuesday.
  16. I have, I just cancelled and rebooked, but I don't use a TA.
  17. I agree, and hotel reservations have always been easy to cancel. For several years now, airline reservations have been refundable too. Even Explora's $200 cancelation fee is available to use as a future cruise credit. The sale is just too good to pass up. I hope the extended schedule becomes available at sale prices.
  18. Looks like Explora 1 is back in the Caribbean for winter 2024-25 and on sale.
  19. It seems from pictures and videos that OT's don't have a "desk". (a space in the counter with a chair or stool convenient for laptop use). Is that correct?
  20. I departed Nova on Friday instead of Saturday, and walked of the ship with my luggage about 7:30am. Breezed through CBP, got and Uber to JFK for 11am flight.
  21. More than twice the size of the regular ones. More than 10' from the door to the railing.
  22. The creaking in my cabin #8091 was so bad, even in calm seas, I had to switch cabins. I think the ship is unbelievably stable. BTW they had a special on the premium wifi and I got it, so I never tried the free wifi. It has been close to perfect, although for some websites your need a VPN to change you perceived location.
