  1. Saw video on news this morning of the sloshing, it sure was, 5 - 6 metres into the air is my guess.
  2. Which begs the question. Will positive cases be put off the ships well before they get here? If embarking from US mainland the bug should show up before Hawaii and other ports along the way.
  3. Watching the news lately I see there are fires in all these places, including near Bordeaux. I was in Spain and Portugal 3 years ago when NSW was on fire. Irony?
  4. Yep, CH9 did it again this morning. ABC "COVID on board" CH7 "COVID on board" CH9 "Riddled" with COVID.
  5. Seems like the same mob that tried to invent a pen that works in space - when a pencil will do.🙄
  6. It's a 21 day Deal of a Trip for Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Going 10 days early which we will spend in France with an Oz couple who own a house not far from Bordeaux.
  7. I've had my Health Care card for about two years and yesterday it got me my first freebie. A box of RATs. Still haven't had a test but I expect they will come in handy as I'm off to France, Portugal, Spain & Morocco in four weeks.
  8. Sorry Mr Bond. You'll just have to seiile for stirred.😉
  9. Just now on 2SM, today's "shock jock" has gone hysterical on Coral. I would like to listen to responses to see if anyone from cruise industry will call to refute everything he has said (as it was almost all wrong) but I have to leave home now for an appointment with a TA.
  10. Bugger, Haven't been to Harry's for some time now. Last night I had a great dinner at Sesame's, Belmont. No pies but the Pork Belly was excellent (although I asked for the brocolli to be substituted with green beans). Went there with my late wife's BF who is now my travelling companion. It was the fourth anniversary of my wife's passing. Our families holidayed together many times over the last 50 years.
  11. Yep, freezing is what it feels like esprcially with the high wind chill factor where I am. Going through the LPG bottles like there's no tomorrow.
  12. The way it was reported didn't sound like a beat-up. Sounded more like matter-of-fact to me. I've heard worse reports of Noro outbreaks.
  13. You're quite right. I'd rather be north of Brisbane than where I am right now. Sounds balmy up there.
  14. IIRC code orange on Coral was mentioned - whatever that means.
  15. It was the same on 7 news at 4. 100 positives, 4 passengers only.
  16. Not sure but Coral was mentioned and I heard cancelled. I was still in bed with TV on and only half awake at the time.
  17. If you call at Picton there is a steam train excursion from there to Blenhein return.
  18. Did I hear right on this mornings news? Coral has now cancelled?
  19. Both HAL and Celebrity do one way to or from Sydney. These are my two prefered lines.
  20. Whether cruising in the tropics or in Alaska my wife and I always found MDR AC too cool.
  21. I can recommend the Five Glaciers Float plane to Taku Lodge for a salmon bake. IIRC they use 10 seater Sea Otter planes with a running comentary. It's pricey but worth it for ticking off the bucket list. BTW, the lodge is only accessable by float plane. We could not book this excursion privately as the cruise ships book out all the planes when in port. Fortunately the cruise company price mark-up is not outrageous as on other tours.
  22. It was a post to "Which Cruise Port in Sydney". I had included two links; one to a hotel website and the other to a Sydney train time/distance/cost calculator. I reposted without the links and it went through ok, but my original post is still there in the thread but hidden ???
  23. I can recommend the CKS Hotel at Wolli Creek. It's about five minutes from the airport (about a mile), in the same street as the Novotel, and they run a shuttle to/from the airport. It's about a 10 minute walk to Wolli Creek station from where you can take the train into the city to Circular Quay (17 minutes). It's on the same line as the airport station. I've used it many times (lost count) to stay the night before flying out of Sydney (mostly international), and found it cheaper than others in the area.
