Well sure. I'm just saying as suite prices go up (and will continue to on the new ships), that tiny deposit for a large purchase is more easily brushed off if you decide not to cruise.
The odds of booking a suite which costs enough for the 10% to kick in is a lot higher now, especially for the new ships.
Book a 15k suite, but pay $500 deposit, forfeiting that $500 seems a drop in the bucket.
I would be curious how close to their schedule arrival time that people are showing up.
RC has this data. If too many people are showing up too early, it doesn't seem to be making a big impact.
We did that last Christmas for my son. We were visiting relatives first, so we packed an extra suitcase when he was at school with summer/cruise stuff.
On the flight "home" our son didn't pick up on the fact something was amiss until the pilot gave his first update about how long it would take to get to Orlando. He about lost it and thought we were joking.
