  1. This is great news! Not hauling bags around that morning is well worth a good tip. We are coming in to Vancouver on the Rocky Mountaineer train, so the hotel booking is through them and not the cruise line..
  2. Doesn't that sound like a lot fo fun! Not. But I guess if they are non-physical, they shouldn't take up a lot of room. Hopefully, "channelling" means non-verbal.
  3. We are staying at the Pan Pacific Hotel prior to departing on an Alaska cruise in August. Does the hotel offer a luggage transfer directly to the cruise terminal?
  4. We are on Millie northbound on 8/4. Is that you, too?
  5. We were suite guests on NCL Spirit last November for 12 days. Staff was outstnding. Spirit has a more limited Haven experience, in fact they don't have a "Haven". The suite services were great, the Suite concierge was wonderful, the butler was very attentive. The guaranteed balcony seating for shows was great. The priorty boarding for tenders was outstanding. The priority embarkation made for a much more relaxed last day. In the suite, we had the best bedding I have ever had on a cruise or in a hotel (and I am in the hotel business). The food on Spirit was good, but nothing was "spectacular" in my opinion - no real "wow" food moments. We are on the Millie in August, so I am really excited to make the comparison.
  6. And in fact our law changed in Texas. In Florida, you can buy wine on Sunday beginning at 8:00 a.m.
  7. Good, they can stay on NCL. depends on the itinerary. We were on a 12 day tahiti cruise on NCL in November and I would bet the average age was closer to 60 than 45. I am greatly looking forward to our Alaska cruise on Millie in August. To each his and and her own.
  8. Don;t you have to have a foriegn port stop before re-entering American ports?
  9. I picked them through the travel agent and originally, we had two hours, but Delta has changed time on the flights twice now.
  10. Yes, on Spirit, we loved our suite, loved the bedding, loved the shower, but NCL is not the gastronomic experience pat excellence some of the time. My expectations in the MDR and buffet are tempered as they should be, Cagney's should be great and Teppanyaki should be great, but for us, Cagneys was about a 6 and Teppanyali about a 5 on a 10 point scale. The staff and entertainment for us was excellent.
  11. My Celebrity booked flight gets in to LAX at 7:00 a.m., the next leg leaves at 8:00 a.m. Delta has a big message on my intinerary "You will miss your connection, please call to make alternative arrangements". Of course Celebrity owns the reservation, thus they have to request a change. Celebrity says that is within their guideline. It is a travel agent booking, so I can't do anything with anyone. The TA has requested that Celebrity request a change, so I am in 24 - 48 hour limbo waiting. This is for an August booking, 80 days out. It's also four days prior to sailing, for a non-Celebrity pre-cruise train trip, so Celebrity has no impending liability for getting me onboard.
  12. We had a different Captain in November, but Vuk and Mohammad were literally everywhere all the time. I've seen recent posts indicating that they are on their time-off period now.
  13. We typically ate about 6:30 in the specialty restaurants and had plenty of time.
  14. We were on for 12 days in November. The ship is in great shape. We had a suite and the bedding was magnificent. The bathroom and shower was wonderful.. We loved the crew and the entertainment.
  15. We were on Spirit for 12 days in November. If they have the same shows, the entertainment was one of the highlights. Very talented and versatile entertainment, five or six fully choreographed shows. Shows were once a night, at 8:00, I think. We had the drink package, but are not heavy drinkers, so I can;t comment on timing or drinks per hour. I did not see "buckets". I ordered two drinks at a time (one for me, one for DW) so I know that is OK. We had four days at sea from Tahiti to Hawaii. I think you'll like Spirit. Great crew, ship is great, newly refurbed. Best bedding I've had on a cruise. We were in a suite, the bathroom and shower were magnificent.
  16. We were on a 12day Tahiti to Hawaii on NCL Spirit last November. The entertainment was one of the highlights for us - everyone has their preferences. The ship was very nice, but we like a smaller ship. The bedding was the best I have had on a ship. Food was good, not "spectacular", not on par with Celebrity. Had the same issue with paying for coffees and waters. Crew was very good, service was very good. NCL primarily sails Pride of America in Hawaii. Reviews I've read are mixed. It is an all US Hawaii crew and subscribes to Hawaii law. Bars are closed when docked.
  17. We were on a 12-day on Spirit in November and enjoyed it. The ship was in great shape after the refurb and the crew was excellent. Entertainment was excellent. Slightly smaller than Jewel, but Alaska cruise in not really about onboard activities, it's about the ports and scenery. Thermal Spa features are very limited and no Solarium Pool.
  18. You need the statement from your brokerage.
  19. We are on Millenium in early August and I did go a little overboard (no pun intended), I must admit. Fortunately, DW doesn't typically ask how much on these trips. And we are doing a Rocky Mountaineer train trip into Vancouver on the front end. We have done an out and back Alaska cruise on Holland America some ten years ago, so wanted to do it a bit different with the train and then northbound to Seward. Demand is high, suites have been sold out for months. I saw that summer air demand is exceeding 2019 levels already. With the suites, you get onboard credit, gratuities and beverages, in my case, that is close to $2,000, so factor that in.
  20. We were on Spirit in November. All those officers appear to have rotated off.
  21. We gave $150 on a 12 day cruise. Moderate use, no crazy requests.
  22. We were on Spirit for 12 days and sent laundry twice. Laundry for simple "wash dry fold" items was fine. I sent a pair of khaki cotton pants and they came back the first time just washed and folded, not even folded on the crease, but on the seam and not pressed or starched. Had to send them back and explain to steward what I wanted.
  23. We were on Spirit in November. Thermal Suite is very limited compared to the newer ships. I wouldn't (and didn't) buy the pass.
  24. To give credit, I used Sthrngary's template for the letter.
